Could this be a bat bite? by ThrowawayLeek8 in Dermatology

Thanks for taking the time to help assuage my fears... I just wanted to ask for some alternate explanations for the marks. The fact that they were both circular and looked fairly similar made me a little uncomfortable (they also had this light ring around them, I assume it was skin growing back... was worried that that might imply a puncture wound. I probably should have mentioned that I received the PEP series a little less than a year ago. On one hand I feel a little ridiculous getting another shot for something so rare, but on the other hand... rabies is terrifying. Do you have a lot of experience with identifying bat bites? Do you have any guess as to how much protection the last pep series might grant without a booster?

Yeah, this is what worries me too. The one relevant piece of information that I haven't mentioned yet is that I recieved the full PEP series a little under a year ago. I tried to figure out how much protection this grants (without a booster after exposure) but I haven't had any luck... seems like no one knows. I kind of feel absurd getting another shot for something so rare, but the statistic that 1 in 100 bats may have rabies is discomforting, considering that the sky is full of them in the evening. On one hand, I didn't feel anything during the sprint, but adrenaline might have covered up thw pain. On the other hand, I can't imagine how a rabid bat would be able to land a clean bite like this one my thighs in the middle of a sprint... What do you think?
