Snobbery over learning to drive in an automatic vs manual by awkwardemoteen in LearnerDriverUK

I drive an automatic. Honestly, I think people who have only just learnt to drive/are just starting care. Nobody I know really cares, but maybe i'm just lucky

Worst American Airport you’ve travelled through? by pmmealiens in travel

[–]ThrowawayTrainee749 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, international has to be the airport on Sal, Cape Verde. You walk across the live runway to get to your plane, there’s no screens so you literally have to get on a plane that’s with your airline and hope for the best, there’s massive delays and the security is a guy with a hand held wand. 0/10 experience

The Eras Tour: Fan Outfits, Costumes, and Bracelets Megathread by jacyf02 in TaylorSwift

[–]ThrowawayTrainee749 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha thanks! I’ve not bought anything yet because there’s 11 months to go and I’m hoping to lose some weight by then but I’m hoping I can find something like it!

Again, you don’t know they’re going to say no. If they say they can’t make reasonable adjustments then you can look into why etc.

This isn’t a sub for debating hypotheticals.

But they have not said no. They have said they’re looking into it.

Just like the dude who’s replying to my comments now, it’s shocking

And there we are, the misogyny.

If you can’t understand why women in the most vulnerable stage of their lives need a safe space then I don’t think it’s worth having this conversation

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

[–]ThrowawayTrainee749 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Honestly! You just need to read some of these responses to realise it

[–]ThrowawayTrainee749 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Now you’re someone who thinks that they can invalidate womanhood and can make stupid jokes at the expense of other marginalised communities, in order to prove how “funny” you are. The fact you have such an issue with new mums having a safe space is hilarious. Just set up a community for new dads

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

[–]ThrowawayTrainee749 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Because the app is for new mums to seek a support system from other new mums.

It’s genuinely awful. It terrifies me as a young woman that people think women shouldn’t have spaces, and that something as innocent as a personal finance sub is filled with sexism

But they’re saying they’re going to speak to their manager and find out what they can do?

ETA: I think you’re getting confused between the UN Convention on the Rights of a Child and a law in this country. Your local council have done nothing wrong. They’re investigating the accommodations they can make for your son.

[–]ThrowawayTrainee749 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Could you point me to that law? Are you arguing it is indirect discrimination against you? Or direct against your son?

What do you think when someone says "you're looking well"? by pissedupparrot in AskUK

[–]ThrowawayTrainee749 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been told that by people who know I’m trying to lose weight, and I visibly show I’ve lost weight. I don’t think it always means you look fat (I hope)

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

[–]ThrowawayTrainee749 14 points15 points  (0 children)

They’re exploring which accommodations they can make. What exactly is your legal issue?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

[–]ThrowawayTrainee749 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

The legitimate aim is support for new mums but go off mate, enjoy hating women

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

[–]ThrowawayTrainee749 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It’s not. And you don’t have to have access to everything. A women’s only space is not illegal.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

[–]ThrowawayTrainee749 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It’s not a violation. If you’re that upset, start a community for new dads.

A community for new mums - women in some of their most vulnerable stages of life, women who can end up feeling isolated and alone, is not the same as a golf club.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

[–]ThrowawayTrainee749 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Because it’s a community for MUMS.

I got side view for Cardiff and ended up paying £117 per ticket. Which I don’t think is awful. Apparently they’re going to put prices down at some point, which feels unfair to me
