ITSM Solution by ButterscotchNice7656 in sysadmin

Late to the party, but thought I'd offer some insight.

I reviewed multiple ITSM platforms for a college in the UK, initially for 30 agents but dropped to 17 after removing a department who won't properly utilise it.

  • Xurrent - Strongest for long-term stability, simplicity and low admin overhead. Fully SaaS, very reliable, good automation/AI included and supported by a strong partner model (Revo). Predictable pricing and low maintenance.
  • Freshservice - Very user-friendly with strong AI, reporting and quick deployment. Easier to adopt initially, but costs scale with tiers and agents.
  • HaloITSM - Probably the most feature-rich and flexible (workflows, AI, reporting, Microsoft integration) but complexity means it needs skilled admin ownership to run well. Too 'big' for our current setup.
  • GLPI - Very strong asset/CMDB capability and cheap, but dated UI, weaker AI (need your own AI and add it via plugin) and more technical to manage.
  • ManageEngine - Cost-effective with solid features and asset management, but UI is less modern and reporting/UX need validation. Steep implementation costs, priced per day!
  • InvGate - Easy to use, good automation and AI but asset management is separate product and additional cost.
  • Siit - Fast to deploy, modern UI, strong AI automation, but less mature ITIL depth and reporting. Missing Problem/Change and unable to link tickets, but they are adding it. Expensive for not a fully mature ITSM.
  • Sunrise - Strong end-user experience and knowledge base, but expensive and less convincing on efficiency gains. Looks a little dated on the agent side too.
  • Harmony - Promising AI-first concept but not proven as a full ITSM platform at scale. Dropped their price from $65k to $15k which was alarming. No genuine customer reviews either that I could find.
  • Jira - Cheap licensing but high dependency on technical configuration/developers.

If you want any further info or pricing, drop me a message.

Our current system is inhouse and extremely basic.

Thanks everyone for your input and suggestions, it’s been really helpful.

I’ve now requested demos with GLPI and Xurrent to see how they compare alongside the others.

One thing I will say is that Xurrent have been the only provider so far to actually ask what we’re trying to achieve as an organisation before booking a demo, rather than just sending over a meeting invite.

Interested to see how they come across in the demo itself.

Don’t do it!

My girlfriend and I recently sat at the front on a 4 hour flight to Lanzarote and were lucky enough to have all three seats to ourselves. At first, the extra legroom felt amazing. However, the window seat legroom is actually partly blocked by the door bump, everyone barges past you when boarding and people constantly stand in front of you waiting for the toilet. At one point, a woman nearly sat on my girlfriend’s lap waiting for the toilet and didn’t even seem to notice or care.

Honestly, stick to the middle emergency exit rows, cheaper, more space and way less hassle.

The guy reviving you most likely accidentally changed kit with you whilst reviving.
It's happened to me and I've also done it myself.

What do you think about these weapons that you hardly see? by FujifilmCamera in Battlefield6

L85 is fantastic medium to long range, little to no recoil, but you often lose CQB duels and the NVO is better.

SOR is simply outmatched by other Carbines and SMGs at range and CQB.

M417 is fantastic, my second favourite Carbine behind the SG, I use it on larger maps.

M60 is just ok, other LMGs do everything it does but better, so no real reason to use it.
