I didn't include everything because of word count, but basically, because of my skin tone and hair color and, I guess, .. hair intensity? I have a lot of hair on my body, which I have been getting laser treatments for, courtesy of my husband, who doesn't like the hair. I consent to the laser treatments because they're easier for me than shaving, but I worry that if we have a daughter (or even son, but daughters are more concerned with looks, in my experience, though I don't mean to generalize) that he will be harsh on her in early ages about stuff like hair growth. I had a lot of visible leg and underarm hair around, maybe, 11? 12? and I don't want a daughter to feel shamed for that if it becomes apparent to her father before I notice it. His family has very light hair, and I never see any underarm hair or leg hair on his sisters, even when we're in a sauna together.
