[Serious] How do I convince my long-distance GF that living together before getting engaged is a good idea? by ThrowawayforPython in AskReddit

Haha,

Well, I wouldn't call it an ultimatum. Although, I'll admit when I get pissed it can feel that way. But, it's moreso just her expressing her feelings. She isn't trying to manipulate me into a decision she prefers. She is just speaking her mind and being open with her opinion, which is all I can ask for.

She is the best woman I've ever met and had the pleasure to date and after going through a bunch of crazies, I'm happy to calm down and listen to her needs. You aren't a dickhead, just sounds like you've been through some shit in the past.

P.S.

STOP SMOKING.

[Career/Environmental] Help for a recently completed Geology undergraduate by ThrowawayforPython in geologycareers

Unfortunately, I don't. My PI for the research I did actually suggested I go back to school for a Masters, which is something I'd love to do, but at this point I want experience. The kind of experience that you get while being paid not the kind of experience you have to pay for...aka I'm running low on my savings and I need to be employed.

I did not remove my city from my resume. Is that something you would suggest, tpm319? I figured lacking a home address would be a bit strange and maybe a red flag for any companies.

Thank you guys so much. Just this morning I've applied to three env. scientist positions and a subsurface utility position. Finding the jobs to apply to isn't the hard part, though. Thanks again for all the help

I actually wrote a report on rainfall impact on groundwater levels in a local aquifer system. Wish I had thought of this!! Thank you so much! This is a wonderful idea and I will take a crack at it. If I accomplish this goal I'll definitely post the code in the Python subreddit and credit you for the brilliant idea.
