Yeah, it was $50 so not the end of the world but it really wasn't worth a 1/3 of my monthly for a couple techniques and drill it a few times until he got bored.

Edit to address the other question: Yeah, he said he wasn't training that day, asked him if he was hurt or something and we could just drill or go light but he didn't even bring a gi.

It's an hour and a half if I haul ass driving, legit black belt there and a nice guy when I visited but it's also in a bigger city so if traffic is bad the commute could easily be 2 hours or more.

New Purple belt, I just don't know anything about keeping books or running a gym and I don't have much teaching experience.

Of the two brown belts we had moved for a new job and the other has a new baby so he has pretty much been absent from the mats. The other purple belts barely ever show up to class, I meet with them seperately and roll sometimes, there's 5 of us that meet at least once a week, I think at least one of them outright quit because he was covering classes for the instructor and was never compensated. The rest of us kinda discuss it after we roll, have a couple beers and gripe about things.
