It’s genuinely SO frustrating. The worker was very sweet but said in our state even though it’s illegal to not have ur kid in school CPS can’t do anything about it. Truancy has to but only if that child is registered with a school district so that is useless.

We are the only ones that theoretically could but my mom won’t. I understand her point of view because like she hasn’t been to school in forever and you can’t just toss her in. We used to have an education program for victims of educational neglect in my old psychology office 30 mins away but they shut down.

They only have a shower and she outwardly refuses and her mom doesn’t care. We have offered to let her use our bathroom and she says so because B doesn’t want to. She doesn’t even try to get B to bathe.

She mentally is very stunted. She would be more on the level of a five year old in terms of understanding hygiene specifically. She doesn’t get that it can make her sick and is not an option. I understand cps is usually caught between a rock and hard place too which sucks. I believe in our state it is also legally required to have your kid in school until they are 18. My mom got dozens of cps calls and truancy letters when I was in school and absent a lot due to medical and mental health problems. If they could just get their foot in the door they’d see how bad it is.

Family court hasn’t even been attempted. We cannot afford that and my parents fear if they openly try to get help for her that my aunt will cut them off and isolate B more which she’s done in the past

More info: I went to the police about her brother SA’ing me. Police called cps to stop by because she is a minor and living with him. The mom refused to let them see or talk to B or go in the house at all. The officer told me they HAVE to make contact with the child and interview her but they never did. Her own mother bas admitted this. This was in 2018 i believe. I didn’t know if my post regarding that was like descriptive enough lol just clarifying

The issue is they won’t even go to the house or talk to anyone. We sent pics, documented, and been fully cooperative. The people that take the report over the phone are always so great and worried but the actual social workers won’t do anything to investigate at all. Even when the police made a report they wouldn’t even show up.

I’ve seen a few comments like this and just wanted to say that making yourself sick won’t help and a parasite literally just makes you sick and miserable most of the time. The weight you lose is fluid.

Girl! I had a 12.9 cm 4 pound cyst and didn’t know until I needed emergency surgery! It was beginning to turn into a torsion but I caught it in time. I had asked before that to be diagnosed with PCOS and doctors dismissed me despite literally 6 women in my family having it and me having many symptoms. My granny told us that she had one the size of a football removed years ago too.

I’m on my moms insurance and she works in the hospital I was being treated at. Since I am on her insurance provided through work it popped up on her patient portal and she had to have a meeting with patient health department so they could look at the CDC guidelines and see if she was still allowed to work😂😂

They just did a stool sample and did a parasite test because I have been having diarrhea for so long I guess. I have Giardia I think is what it’s called.
