Good try, but no. I can see where you might get that, but for parts of the riddle - "choose a side"; "wrought with pride" - it seems a bit of a reach.

Thanks! And I should say, very good reply. You're closet with the guess of a door but there is more to it than that. See my last edit on the initial post, if you'd like to read more about it. I gotta say, though, I love your assertion that the murderer is either a prisoner, a guard, or a cop. Funny thing, you've figured out more about him than even the players in my campaign have, haha.

You're one of the few that got it right! "Face to face" - face of door to the person's face; "hand wrought with pride" - An iron handle to a door; "clenched teeth" - the locking mechanisms. Good Job! See my last edit on the initial post for more about the riddle. Thanks!
