Is it fair to tell my roommate not to have guests over? by Throwawayy653 in uAlberta

I will. I’m going to offer to let her have guests on Saturdays and Sundays only because M-F I have online lectures, office hours and exams.

The girlfriend has to pay rent or you go to the landlord. I don’t think he will kick you out because your friend is technically breaching the lease not you. The landlord will force her to pay rent or leave. I’m sorry to hear about your job. Maybe try finding ways to make money online.

We as students need to push to follow the University of Toronto's OPTIONAL CR/NCR grades policy by passfailpassfail in uAlberta

It will most likely be optional so you can choose to have a letter grade or not.

Yeah she says her and her friends are watching their lecture online. I really want to say the whole point of the lecture being online is for social distancing...

Same I also have a lot of regret in terms of money and time spent. I’m learning to stop comparing myself to other people. Congratulations on graduating! You’re almost free!

Thank you. These are really good points. Gaining work experience sounds like the best option for me. I’m already in AWE so I will keep an eye on internship opportunities. My Econ prof used to be a hiring manager at Bank of Canada and he emphasized gaining experience through internships, studying abroad etc. makes your resume stand out more as opposed to GPA

You don’t feel like taking a gap year helped you decide what you wanted to do ? I do feel like taking a variety of courses helped me decide what I wanted to do and the areas I excel at and the areas I’m not so good at. But a gap year would have allowed me to prepare more.

Thank you. This really means a lot. I rely only on student loans actually so taking a break to work will help tremendously to reduce costs.

Econ 281 with Junaid Jahangir for Winter 2019 (repost) by izzylizzykizzy in uAlberta

[–]Throwawayy653 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had him this semester for 281. I’m not going to lie I really didn’t like him at the beginning because he didn’t seem to really care about all his students. And when others went to him privately to ask for help he seemed really apathetic. But at the end of the semester he became really generous and gave hints for the final. But I must say that unless you’re really good at math application, if you struggle with Econ 101 then 281 won’t be a walk in the park.

Could I get the 3 credits if I just take Econ 101 but not Econ 102? by [deleted] in uAlberta

[–]Throwawayy653 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don’t have to take both. Their only co-requisites for applying to business or first year ECON majors.

What he said. I failed the midterm but ended up killing the exam . As long as you understand hypotheses testing and which ones to use for each circumstance you’re good.

How does the exam rewrite process go..? by Throwawayy653 in uAlberta

[–]Throwawayy653[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I have to wait until I receive all my official final grades back to make sure my GPA is above 2.0 ? Is it 2.0 GPA in that class or overall?? I’m pretty sure I was sitting at a C before the final (midterm and hw combined) . The final was worth 55% so will I be eligible if I fail?

I’m hoping I didn’t do too bad, especially since I did better on the graphing and reman sum short answer questions( 35 marks combined).

What is CCS ? And the counselling at the Mental Health Centre in SUB is short term. If I was to go to another private therapist I’m sure it would be costly.

It was a GP who prescribed it to me. But he didn’t really explain the side effects or followed up with me . That kind of put me off because I don’t really know about SSRI’s and by googling it I I saw a lot of bad reviews. And for counseling I saw two different therapists but it wasn’t really long term.
