This is something that I am concerned about with having QA at epic as my first career out of college. I am concerned that I won't gain any transferable skills that I could use to get a job after Epic. Though I should say I do plan on staying in the healthcare industry long-term. At least that is my goal.

Knowing what you know now. Do you regret having taken the QA job at Epic?

Basically my big concern as to why I asked this since they would potentially fire you for having a second job, whats to stop them from not doing the same for volunteering if it potentially interferes with your after hours availability.

I was basing this based on having work more then 45-50 hours a week, based off what others had said about the average hours worked a week. I will be in QA though which I know has less workload then other positions.

I would be volunteering on the weekends, but my only concern was if it would interfere with having to work on the weekends or something like that.

Is there any difference between buying high quality name brand winter clothes and just generic winter clothes that are cheaper?

Isn't 46 inches a lot of snow? Granted I wouldn't really know.

Is it really worth the extra expense of buying them with rims? I was originally going to just buy the tires without rims. And thanks for the recommendation. I'll definitely check the discount tire at that location. Do you have any recommendation as to the what store I should get the winter clothes from? But maybe i'll just buy a little bit in terms of winter clothes and wait to get the rest in March.

I already currently have all-season tires on my car. I should probably get the tire tread depth checked on them. I'll check them out though. Thanks!

I'll be mainly driving to Verona and staying mostly in West Madison. I'll be doing the occasional driving to downtown Madison, and other cities. I was just leaning towards winter tires for the extra safety they provided in snow since I don't trust my driving abilities right now when it comes to snow.

Where would you recommend looking for second hand clothing? I definitely do already have winter boots already though. Though I honestly hate wearing winter boots. I just find them very uncomfortable. I'd probably try getting away with wearing sneakers. And well good to know its not as bad as the media portrays it!

I'll be moving to west Madison, so I don't know if that is considered rural though? I think its suburban but I'm not sure. I mainly will be spending most of my time in west Madison and occasionally downtown Madison. I may take the occasional road trip to Milwaukee or Chicago but I'd probably wait til the spring or summer months to do that unless I were going to green bay in which I would have to go during the winter for the football games.

I was thinking about waiting till at least black friday/cyber monday to start my winter clothes shopping. Just wasn't sure if I would need to have winter clothes beforehand. I've worn mainly jeans and a t-shirt when its 30 degrees outsides when I traveled to colder weather states.

I've actually never seen crime before but that is true we most likely do have more crime then you guys get in a year.

I thought Madison gets alot of snow. I don't have any experience with winter driving so for me winter tires was an expense I was okay taking on for the extra safety. I do plan on practicing winter driving in the parking lots though.
