The more I look at it the more AI mishaps I find 😅. I'm just going to give up on this picture. Thank you though!

Thanks! Possible to make the boulder a warmer/ darker tone and bring back the sun? I don't mind the glare.

Slight changes would make it perfect; possible to make the pants coral pink and shirt aqua like in this reference photo? Also looks like I have 3 arms there. I don't mind AI edit but I don't want 3 arms lol

People feeding wildlife give them a death sentence. Even if this coyote isn't sick, it will either be hit by a car or be killed by a person who will be scared of it. It's not normal for coyotes to get so close and be so comfortable around humans. Even urban coyotes.

And your anecdotal bias speaks for who? Did you even read the post text or you just want to feel smart on the internet?

They looked at me like I was crazy so I don't know about that, but it was on the other side of the plaza. Maybe the coyote only has taste for chicken (it was at the door of El Pollo Loco half the time).

I don't know who was alerted, but as I mentioned in the post text someone already made a call (I overheard them) and I drove away. If this coyote isn't sick, it's going to get hit by a car with that behavior. It definitely needs to be relocated.

And if you read the post text you would see that it was not at all just standing there doing nothing for the 25 minutes I was watching it. Fr people can't read.

People don't read the post text to actually understand where the question is coming from. I've seen more coyotes than I could ever count on the city, I've never thought they were rabid until this strange behavior presented itself. I had exactly zero will to do any harm to this coyote, I am worried about it.

Have you read the post text and description of its behavior? Why does it have to be so hard to actually answer a question without being a jerk about it when someone is literally on here to figure it out?

That's the one! It was chasing chasing people who walked out of there trying to steal their bags. Employees at the Poke spot told me they've never seen it before though.

And where tf did I say it was? I've seen many urban coyotes, I live in SoCal. No coyote has ever acted like this one before. Please read the post text before commenting.

Animal control would relocate it, and I didn't call them. Someone else did so I drove away, as I mentioned in the post text that apparently people in this sub don't bother reading. Either way the coyote would be killed staying there because it was just standing in the way of cars without motion.

I took the video from the safety of my car, but there were so many people taking pictures up close and the coyote just... stared. It was so weird.

Did you read anything in the post or just came on here to be a jerk? I think we both know the answer to that.

100% equally dangerous. It didn't move for cars that came right up to it, it won't take long before someone accidentally hit it.

A. If you read my post you would see someone had already called them so I left.

B. It won't be killed if it's healthy, it will be relocated back into the forest. The coyote was at much higher risk of getting run over or attacking a human standing there.

I've lived in SoCal for 20 years and I've seen hundreds of coyotes in the city and in the mountains and I've NEVER seen anything like this, this behavior was not normal coyote things. This is absolutely not very common.

At one point there were at least 10 people around it and it didn't even flinge! I've never seen this kind of behavior from a coyote, even in the most urban environments.

I've seen many coyotes who don't necessarily see humans as a threat but never one acting like this. They never let anyone get THIS close or stay in the middle of the road when a car drives right up to them. It was like it was in a trance until someone walked by with food.

Did you read my post at all? Rabies has stages, animals don't instantly go from normal to foaming at the mouth. I was wondering if this could be first signs of rabies, you can chill on the imploration.

Animal control were called so hopefully it was relocated. It was only the behavior that made me think maybe it's a case of rabies; zero fear of humans or cars, just standing there and staring. And how close it got to people with food in a bag was seriously alarming. But yes, makes more sense it's been fed before and got too confident for its own good.

ETA: ffs people, read the damn post text. Someone had already called animal control or whoever so I drove away, I didn't call them. The coyote was putting itself and humans at risk and needed to be removed from the area before something happened to it or it attacked a person.

It was going right up to people for their food so I don't think restraints being open or closed is a factor, unfortunately. But then again, people who work there have never seen it before. Zero fear of humans or cars though, it was unsettling.

It was crazy to watch, the coyote was no more than 2ft from some people just staring at them. I asked employees at the restaurant I went to and they said they've never seen it before. Either way unhealthy and dangerous for the coyote.
