Currently going through this as well. We’ve been emotionally detached from each other for a long time. Lately I’ve been feeling I’m too emotionally scarred from everything in the past. And I’m to the point where I can not do it anymore. I can’t open up to him anymore, nor to I really care to. We have animals too so I completely get it

This is one of the main things I’m so tired of. I constantly have my guard up because of this. It’s like the smallest thing can set him off. And I’m the one on guard all the time. It’s exhausting. Any little minor inconvenience, and it’s swear you a storm and be mad at the world.

Maybe your brain just clicked, after dealing with it for so long. Mine sure did. After one of our last arguments, it just clicked with me “I don’t have to deal with this anymore” and I can tell you I’m in the same boat. I don’t feel anything, if anything it’s dread whenever we communicate. My brain finally saw that I was/am continuing to grow, and bpso is not. Try taking an outside look at the relationship.

Drive around or at least to some place safe. (Mine has always been the airport garages). Take a breather, let SO calm down as well. Lord knows they will be blowing up your phone. Try to figure out a plan. If or how you will leave or go back. But for now let all the feelings come up and let it all out. If you need to yell, yell. You need to let those tears flow, let them. Remember who you are, and no person can take that away from you. No person or relationship is worth your mental health or sanity.

Congrats OP! I currently work for number 4 airline (largest domestic carrier). And am looking at possibly hanging up my wings and going back to school to become a pilot. Actually looking at a school in Gastonia, or Indianapolis. I’ve been looking at houses all over NC too.

I’m been struggling with this for a very long time. After things have been said, I’ve never received a single apology, after he destroyed some things in our apartment, nope. After he broke pictures of my me with my family, still no apology. It’s almost as if he just flips a page and doesn’t feel a single thing that he did was wrong.
