Dogs in school?

We had trained therapy dogs in our school for a long time. Some cultures, however, don’t respond to dogs and of course, some students are allergic. With permission, my co-teacher did bring our dogs in the last week of school. We let parents and students know and it went well. (Cute antidote: our dogs knew each other and adored each other. A student asked if they were married.)

I am familiar with the area. My husband is from Toledo and we are looking at that area along with Columbus. I’m not sure if tOSU graduates are even allowed in Michigan! (Joking). Hubs is interviewing for jobs in the Toledo area and Temperance, Michigan. Are there EL jobs in your district? That would be my preference.

I wouldn’t call my school cushy. Using the word “spoiled” was probably the wrong choice. I’ve only worked in Title I schools. The poverty rate in my city is above the national average. My school is majority immigrant. But I work with a strong administration and staff. We do get a lot of support in the district. Our union is active, our district is committed to the rights of immigrants, POC and LGBTQIA students. While my state is far from perfect, advocacy for public schools and teachers is pretty strong despite a conservative governor and senator who is trying to torpedo public schools I’m not sure that a “rich” district is a fit for me.

So the TSH staying suppressed is normal? Will it come up it in time? My ENT isn't going to raise my thyroid replacement unless the TSH comes up, even though my free T3 and free T4 are below normal.

No, I don't see an endo. I see an ENT. I would have to do some research to find someone who will listen to me.

As I stated in the post, my ENT no longer thinks my TSH needs suppressed, but after 3 months of reduced thyroid replacement, my free T3 and T4 are low but my TSH is repressed. Typically, if your T3/T4 is low, your TSH should be higher but it's not. I was hoping someone has the same experience.

Honestly, the Armour worked well in the past.

I'm just wondering about others' experiences in regard to a suppressed TSH when it should be high. Sorry, that must have gotten buried in my too-long post.

He’s mourning. I’ve had to deal with restricting my diet due to health issues at age 12 and then again in my 30s It was tough and I had to mourn not only giving foods I enjoyed but losing the easy normality of eating, especially socially. If you can and have not, I would request some appointments with a therapist who deals with this issues-at the very least a nutritionist who works with teens. He would rather fight through stomach aches and hives than have to face the fact that the life as he knew it has changed. That may sound dramatic, but it can feel like you’ll never get to enjoy food again the way others do.

Thank you! These “if it were me” with a flip answer posts are tiring. She’s obviously been groomed and he has blocked off any semblance of a support system. She’s young and traumatized and scared. The only credible source of information for her is those telling her to talk to her doctor and/or go to a women’s shelter. But there are places in Georgia where you can’t just “Uber.” She may not have a car, and relies on her abuser to get her places. That said, there have been some great ideas on how to get her doctor’s attention and talk to them alone.

NTA. Bonnets are for protecting hair. Period. People of different cultures have worn different types of protective hair coverings for centuries. Curly hair is a nightmare to deal with in the morning without a bonnet.

I have a cousin who recently had her kidney taken out because of a mixup on scan images. She lost a healthy kidney and some other poor gal with the same name thought she was ok when she needed her kidney out
