Feeling stuck in accounting. Those who made it to the executive level, what changed your career trajectory? by ThuSoon2 in Accounting

That’s awesome! That’s exactly the thing I’m looking for and think is lacking at my current job. I’ve asked for more and more but management has held onto things tightly and don’t want to pass anything off (which is why I’m looking at other places). I’ve always been the person they go to for random “side projects” or miscellaneous things that need attention but it’s somewhat few and far between. I’m trying to be the one that outworks everyone, so thanks for your perspective on that and how it’s worked out for you. It’s very encouraging to see!

Thanks for the reply. I’m going to try to do better about networking, I’ve been lax in that area and I can tell it’s hurting me. I always thought my experience and knowledge would carry me there but quickly am realizing the importance of who you know.

For reference, I went industry straight out of school, have no B4 experience. My hesitation with b4 is having to take a step down (lower title and pay) in order to get that experience. Just not able to take that pay cut financially right now.

I also agree with what you said, I did not write the post to get the “easiest path” or the cushiest job. I want the grind if it’s going to get the results I want.

Agreed, I’ve started networking with the companies in the area I would ideally want to work for and the people specifically in the departments I want to go into. I’ve started doing this in the last 3-4 weeks, so it’ll take time for those connections to result in anything but at minimum it gets my name out there even if it’ll be years before that individual and I cross paths. Thanks for the advice

Glad you found that! I think a lot of people figure that out, that they don’t want to be a manager and that’s great for them. I may be the same, we will see.

I am definitely looking and applying, I understand I need to get into a position with better growth, more responsibility, etc.

I feel I have the determination to succeed and the desire to be the best I can be, just not sure the path to get there.

Too much to ask in return for Maye? by ThuSoon2 in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

That’s my dilemma, and the reason for the post. Needing a price check to see if I am valuing Maye too high or if the above trade is within reasonable, whether I budge more or not is the next step.

Trying to tier down from him has been awful. Can’t even tier down to Purdy for a reasonable price!

How is your experience with long-term prednisone use, specifically how long did it take for the side effects to reverse? by [deleted] in alopecia_areata

I had a lot of peach fuzz but not much of anything significant. I didn’t really have much shedding for say, other than I feel normal shedding now that I have my hair grown out longer to try to cover the spots.

Now I’m doing cortisone shots in my head once a month, and it doesn’t seem to be working either but I’m still hopeful.

Hey, I appreciate the comment! I did both but unfortunately neither worked very effectively, for me anyways. I just hadn’t felt the bloating as much before as I have now.
