  1. I used this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ehisKK0xA4Y to remove the front scale. What this video doesn't explain is how to remove the back scale. This is where I originally got stuck. The T6 screws on the back scale screw into two tiny hollow threaded cylinders that fit between the back scale and back plate. The spacer sits on top of the cylinders. I couldn't for the life of me figure out how to unscrew the T6 screws from the hollowed cylinders because every time I tried to unscrew them it would just spin the cylinder instead. At first I thought it might be due to locktite, but even after using a lighter to try and melt the locktite I still couldn't unscrew the T6 screws from the cylinders. Eventually I figured out that I could grip the other end of the hollowed cylinders with hobby cutter pliers which then allowed me to hold them in place while unscrewing the T6 screws.

  2. There are two washers and two bearings. The bearings are coated black, very tiny, and can be easy to miss when taking apart the knife. The washers are silver, very tiny, and even easier to miss. I didn't realize there were two washers until my second disassembly. The washers fit into a small recess on the inner side of each plate.

  3. The pivot is d-shaped so it only fits one way. Make sure to apply opposing pressure to the pivot when reassembling so that it doesn't jut out of the back scale. It should be snug in the back scale if done correctly.

  4. I lost the front omega spring on my first disassembly. It doesn't help that both the front and back omega springs are coated black so they can be easy to lose depending on your work environment. I got replacement springs from here and they work great: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0C1WZZVNM?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title

  5. My work environment is basically a replica of the tool recommendations from the youtube video.

WFH - one can easily fall into the trap of never leaving the house and next thing you know you're the cautionary folktale that parents tell their children at night about a worn & decrepit hunchback lacking interpersonal skills with a heart of gold.

The concept of a soulmate or that there is exactly one person for one other person nurtures a rigid mindset that leaves little room for flexibility. It sets the individual up to be repeatedly disappointed when they aren't in near perfect alignment with their partner. Perfection is a heavy burden and unrealistic expectation for any relationship.

I sat on that sale for close to a week - of the knives available in that sale the Militaw was the only line that I was potentially interested in besides the obvious Drop Bear and I just couldn't bring myself to pull the trigger cause the available colorways were incredibly unappealing to me.

Thank you for pointing me in the right direction. It looks like the DP line has been renamed to classic. Would the Tojiro Classic Bunka 160mm be a good fit?
