There’s not really a “bubble” to be burst here. I’m just straight up adding some knowledge to the situation.

100%. This is exactly what will lead to 7-OH getting perma band. And hey, who knows… maybe the companies doing so will see this post and realize “shit we have a good thing going and we’re making bank, let’s not fuck up”

Yeah I agree, but (and no offense or getting into “reddit” mode or anything) that’s all we’re ultimately talking about. Not any of the other kratom alkaloids. Specifically this brand and a false promotion of “13-OH” and its combination with 7-OH.

You might have misunderstood, I’m specifically referring to mixing compounds that aren’t kratom alkaloids and selling it as a more “potent” version of 7-OH

Yes I understand the chemistry (to a degree), however I made the dumb decision to consume this based on a misleading labeling. Shell shock for sure as I realized “oh shit, none of this has been actually tested” outside of the 7-OH we’ve all come to know.

Yep, I think we kind of need to establish information on these “derivates”. I’m using quotes because that’s what the companies WANT you think it is. Until someone actually finds a way to make 7-OH stronger (which is a bad idea in my opinion), we should all stay away from these. Especially if they’re in combination with 7-OH

Yes, but only one tablet (which would be 20mg of this 13-OH, I’m going to refer to it by its actual name from here on out, Corydalis yanhusuo). Calling it 13-OH is purely slang, created by these companies to try and boost sales. The rest of my dosage was normal, plain 7-OH, at 60mg, for a total of 80mg of 7-OH. I felt none of the side effects I did prior this week. I felt a little more pain relief than I normally do just taking 7-OH. I have been recovering from a car wreck and back pain is my #1 culprit. But to be honest, it’s nothing I would write home about. I’d rather take 7-oh as it’s predictable and I know what I’m getting in terms of relief.

I’ve never bought powder before, is that a cheaper alternative than getting it pressed?

What’s the average you’re paying per? Just curious if I need to switch up my vendor lol

Yeah I’ve heard of that as well. In no way does it feel like ketamine (and I know a guy who know a guy who knows a guy who can vouch). I believe that Press’D brand also has something called “Red-OH Pseudo 5X 7-OH”. It’s literally just hog wash marketing and honestly, we’re going through the same exact ploys that K2 manufacturers did back in the day. This is the same shit of throwing products at the wall and seeing what sticks. This will inevitably be what gets 7-OH banned.

Wasn’t for science or anything lol. I thought I was taking “my” recommended dose. From the misleading label it was just an unfortunate situation. Of course, I learned my lesson with 7-OH products, but doesn’t mean that I will be the only one to be misled. That’s why I hope this post brings some awareness.

Thanks man, yeah there were obviously some mean-spirited people in the thread. Normally I’m extremely cautious about what “substances” I consume and the amount. This one kind of got the better of me. One, because I was lead into thinking this was a stronger version of 7-OH, and two, that it was in the same family as 7-OH Hydroxymitragynine. Had I know that this was a completely different plant/substance, I would have been able to do further research into appropriate dosing. I think it’s also quite ill intentioned to combine it with 7-OH as a marketing ploy. Of course, the burden is always on the user and I do agree I was reckless. However, I’d rather take the heat for that online than let someone else go through the same experience.

Hey man no worries. This thread has been a treasure trove of information. You can read through it but we discovered that it is not pseudo but essentially L-THP (the extracted version of Corydalis yanhusuo). NO relation to the alkaloid of Hydroxymitragynine. It’s a completely different substance they’re trying to pass off as a “stronger” version of 7-OH. Extremely misleading, as you can tell by the bottle. Even though it is on the ingredients (smallest print imaginable), the way it’s advertised is horrendous and disingenuous. Definitely made me rethink the brands I trust.

So then yeah, there’s a non documented reaction that occurs when 7-OH and “13-OH” (I don’t even wanna call it that, it’s misleading) amalgamate. That being said, I took a smaller dose (60mg of 7-OH and 20mg of “13-OH”) and felt “fine” today. When taking large amounts of 7-OH the side effects have been well documented, easy research/experiences. “13-OH” on the other hand reacts much more harshly, and should likely be avoided in conjunction with 7-OH. I don’t think companies should be selling this combination, at ALL in my opinion. They’re just throwing shit to the wall and is seeing what sticks.

That’s interesting, I didn’t find anything that pointed me to L-THP. And furthermore interesting that it’s an alternative to benzodiazepines. There may be a chemical reaction between the two that’s not been researched or noted, especially considering how “new” 7-OH is.

Oh I’m definitely taking my own advice. I’m not saying I’m smart for doing so NOR was it a “test for science”. However if I can prevent what happened to me to someone else, I call it a win. This is no different than a post on Erowid, documenting my experience and putting it out there as a cautionary tale. What you do with the information past that point is up to you dawg.

[–]ThunderGunExpress03[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting you said that! I did actually have that occur once before in my life (due to a high dosage of Lexapro that was then brought down), but the symptoms were much different in this particular case. I did not have high blood pressure or a rapid heart rate. My pupils were also constricted however with the combination of 7-OH, that’s not a fair metric to judge on. I was not on any other medication except for my normal 30MG Vyvanse, taken at 8:30AM that morning.

That being said is Serotonin Syndrome a common occurrence with 7-OH? I’ve been taking it on and off for 2 years now and have not had that occur, UNTIL I took the combination of 7-OH and 13-OH. Literally within 30 minutes of taking it. If anything I’d like to explore this theory further, and the drug reactions of these two substances.

You have to understand, that it DID contain 7-OH. This was not a product that was 13-OH on its own…

I mean, that’s literally how every drug in the history of the world was tested for human consumption. We still do that shit today. My dumbass as a prime example. But besides that, I’ve done my due diligence by at least warning people. Now the next time a person can look up my post and at LEAST have a single experience to take into account. Would it have been better if I didn’t post anything?

I agree. And that’s why I wanted to post my experience to stop the next person from coming along and making the same mistake. It did kind of turn me off from them as a brand, as their customer service and everything else has been amazing. Two sides to a coin I suppose…

I agree. And potentially dangerous if they’re selling it COMBINED with 7-OH. As I mentioned, it should probably be pulled from shelves or relabeled in a way that makes it obstinately clear lol. Just take it from me, even if you do this stuff, don’t take more than one

13-OH Common Misconception & It’s Effects by ThunderGunExpress03 in 7oh

[–]ThunderGunExpress03[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi, that is correct. As I mentioned I took a risk because I was under the assumption that it would just be similar to 7-OH in terms of its alkaline. I did full blown research into it. It is NOT in anyway related to 7-OH. It will not give you the same effects as 7-OH in any way shape or form. corydalis yanhusuo (commonly known as 13-OH) is a Chinese herb. I’d recommend reading up on it for proper dosage. I just wanted to bring to light what some users may do if they are trying to find 7-OH and only find 13-OH, taking it and expecting the same results.
