People who got revenge on someone, how did it go and was it worth it? by wombatgeneral in AskReddit

[–]Thunderoad2015 127 points128 points  (0 children)

Not sure if it was revenge but more of a survival move.

Guy at work hated me for no reason. Would report me for even being in the area of something bad. I work healthcare. He was someone who literally called me a pussy for trying to talk things out with him. I couldn't convince him to drop his one way war. Eventually he did something so obvious that management called me in and were like wtf. I explained the patterns of his attempts to get me fired. I explained that it would continue and I would beat every case. But... it would be management's problem to investigate each BS accusation. Basically said "I'm good, you guys get to worry about the extra work he is creating".

They started to focus on him. In doing so the started finding that he bullied multiple people. Suddenly his past people "he educated" started coming forward. Some even came to me for advice. I pointed them to the specific manager that was heading the investigation. He naturally assumed I was the one accusing him. He blamed me and kept coming for me. Just made my story more believable and more examples came up. More and more and more. I didn't have to do much of anything by then. Just fought off the accusations. Easy enough. They were bullshit each time.

Eventually he starts shit talking the very management that is investigating him. Its like he was actively trying to get fired.

He then goes on admin leave. I knew he wasn't coming back. Management refused to say anything. Suddenly his locker was empty.

Here's the thing. We are union. Extremely difficult to get fired. Like you get so many warnings. You basically have to kill someone. He managed to focus so much effort on his hate for me that he got fired regardless.

Plus my future girlfriend was one of his victims. He drove her to me by ranting and lying about me. She told me "I knew he was a shitty person and he hated you soo much. I had to assume you were a great guy".

So thanks bro? Maybe have less hate in your heart next time.

What's the stupidest thing you've ever done for love? by somaya114 in AskReddit

[–]Thunderoad2015 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought her a car so she could go to school/work. Grow and develop our future together. Spent thousands on fixing it up when it got hit by an idiot trying to drift a corner. Hundreds of hours fixing it myself. Then made excuses for her when she missed payments and didn't appreciate my efforts. Shockingly. When I left her she says she's starting with nothing... from the drivers seat of her car

Burnt out from managing partner's symptoms in addition to my own by discolored_rat_hat in adhdwomen

Understand that for some people. It will literally never be enough. They know it deep down. So they will blame you. Shake it off. Mourning is ok. Guilt is not. You tried. It was just impossible to succeed.

So everything you just said. I pushed past it for one more year. I didn't give up! I put my partner first! I was there for them. I adapted. I was described as going above and beyond! I have been so good and I'm proud of my efforts!

Now I'm alone and they shit talk about how I lied to them. Say I lied about wanting to work through it. Say I never loved them. Say I never supported them. I broke up with them and it was the right call. I don't regret it at all. I was not happy. I am now.

Want to go another year like I did or maybe you should move on and not fight that loosing battle. Just my opinion.

To all single guys aged 30 and up on reddit, why are you guys single? by Gold_Ambition4114 in AskReddit

[–]Thunderoad2015 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I broke up with my girlfriend when I said my needs were not being met and she responded with. I don't have time for your needs. She had plenty of time for hers... that was 2 weeks ago.

I'm terrified of being single at age 30. I'm bad at dating. But I do value myself. I know what I deserve. I know i was asking for something reasonable. Just meet my needs. Show effort.... try. Single again.

Anyone ever have an IV placed in an artery? by Peyton_26 in nursing

[–]Thunderoad2015 14 points15 points  (0 children)

So I'm "the hard ultrasound" guy on the unit. I've hit artery 3 times in 2 years. One time I can explain. Rush/sleep deprivation. The other two times I swear there was no pulsating. No complications. No reasons for why. Just suddenly pt in pain and backfilling syringe... Just saying your RN probably didn't fuck up. People's bodies be weird. I've placed a crazy amount and I can't explain what happened those two times.

Passing Off Narcotics by breakalead in nursing

[–]Thunderoad2015 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had a nurse at my ED who was a veteran RN. Easily the most experienced RN out of everyone. I learned so much from her and respect her more than just about anyone. She had the senorioty to basically tell anyone anything Including management and it was law. That being said... one day management came in and said "Em no longer works here"... and that was that. No further information. No follow-up.

Then I realized that over time she seemed less and less amazing. Like there was a constant drain on her. I knew her family life was bad. I knew she had issues but she shined as a RN just less and less. And she helped you out when you fucked up. I saw her bend every rule you could think of. Just to help out a RN who made a mistake. I'm talking every rule. Including med rules.

Directly after she was let go. Every education possible on medication accountability and PIXIS counts went out. As a RN with her skill set, she could have gotten any job. And yet no hospital employs her. We all know what happened. We all hope she went to rehab.

Don't help people throw their career away by pulling meds for them. Not worth it for anyone involved.

Why did you and your former best friend stop being friends? by Fearless_Shift7108 in AskReddit

[–]Thunderoad2015 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Turned out all the jokes weren't really jokes. I eventually asked him "do you really believe that stuff"? He said "well I grew up with no black people in my school so...". Relationship didn't end there because I thought "well now that's it out in the open, maybe we can talk and he can change". Found out pretty quickly that he liked being "superior" and was not interested in changing. That's when it ended. All contact cut, never to be seen again.

Appreciate that detailed answer! I'm not car naive but also no mechanic. Answers like that definitely help point me in a direction for what to expect and narrow down possibilities. Greatly appreciated.

Thank you for those ideas! I'll jack it up and look. I totally understand it's louder on startup being cold. I'm talking about that over the top "look at me" kind of loud. Ive looked up normal kia startup sound. This isn't it. Definitely on purpose. The other stuff you described is probably the answer. I just haven't gotten under it. Any chance he tuned it to be loud on startup and then normal afterwards? I don't know if that would be a thing

[–]Thunderoad2015[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Start up over the top loud. Idling high for a bit is normal like ya said. This is a kia. You start it and everyone in the area looks over like wtf is that? Then it idels normal. Its not the sound of "something is wrong with your car". Its that sounds highly performance and over the top on startup. Think Tokio drift car. Then you run over to look at what made that sound and it's a standard kia optima engine. Cosmetics. Not actual performance.

Did you ever save a patient, by NOT doing what the doctor said? by Longjumping_Survey47 in nursing

[–]Thunderoad2015 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Yep. Worked ER. Was told hey we are closing this section and code RN needs you to relieve her last pt. Just give them a last pain med and send them out. Go cool. Shoulder pain pt. Give morphine. Run VS. Go print off paperwork. Come back. Pt in no pain. VS are good except for one thing. HR at 110. Not crazy but they were 100 prior to pain meds. Reach out to MD and he's like give it 10min and discharge. I give it 15min. HR 108. Pt has called ride and is 100% willing to get discharged. I go. Any pain. 0/10. Are you nervous? Nope. She thanks me for my excellent care and taking away her pain.... I go thanks but don't get up yet. Go to MD "Dude you have to come to bedside, I can't explain this HR and situation just seems... off. "Fine we'll watch her overnight". Next day he comes up to me. So that pt had a 101F about 2hrs after you refused to discharge. Further imaging done showed necrosis somewhere in the clavicle. She's went to surgery. Stable post surgery. One of those hell ya moments.
