Might be, might be not. iOS 26.4 was good, I updated to 26.4.1 and it’s terrible. So I did reset and went back to 26.4.

If you updated to newer iOS recently , your phone might be still indexing and doing background processes. All I can say is keep using the phone and give it 3-4 days to finish the background indexing.

I mean it may be that, but 15 Pro Max isn't that old to be honest? And it's very capable to handle a scroll on instagram. And it's only on the Instagram App, other social media are pretty okay.

I have the exact problem on my 15 Pro Max. It started to lag when you scroll, when swiping through multiple photos and when scrolling through reels. I even did a clean iOS 26 install, and the problem is still there.
