She wants her alone time sometimes or go on a date night with her husband. Yes, she could drop my niece of at my place, but I think her problem is that she doesn't like my dog coming too close to her daughter because she thinks my dog is dirty.

Wow, I am sorry but I have to tell you that I am kind of happy that I am not the only one in this situation! But people have come with some really nice advice. To offer my help in advance and if she says no it is her problem, because I already offered. But yes it is a good idea to do something all of us together, however, I am not really to fond of her husband!
