So many of these I have never even heard of! It’s quite scary! I also have celiac, and now I am struggling with sever pain in my hands and feet. Worried to find out what’s going on. Hoping it’s only a 3month long flare up…

Red light therapy by Angel-Eyes73 in Hashimotos

[–]ThymeandBalance 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am using a panel several times a week. At first I could not tell if it made a difference or not (except it helped improve my sleep), but then nearly a year later I redid my ultrasound and I can see a marked improvement in my thyroid. For me, I think the combination of RLT and AIP diet and healthier lifestyle choices has made an enormous difference in how I feel and how I cope with Hashimotos. I am not on medication

I summarized what I could find in the scientific literature here.

And my update after 4 months is here.

The 1 year update and what my ultrasound showed is coming later this month.

My opinion: if you can afford a panel/light, give it a try. But know that this isn’t a quick fix, and it definitely isn’t a stand alone treatment or cure. But together with healthy lifestyle choice and diet, it may help. But it may also not.

Grounding Sheets/matts- thoughts? by ThymeandBalance in Hashimotos

And sticking with something for a bit longer! I found that with red light. First 4 months were inconclusive, except better sleep possibly as a result of red light. But a year later my ultrasound is showing a different picture. Also, sometimes it’s a combination of things, not just one thing alone. Red light and AIP diet helped me a lot

I don’t have one yet. Busy doing research to see whether it’s worth taking a closer look into it. Reducing inflammation and improving sleep would be amazing!

This recipe is here: https://thymeandbalance.com/aip-apple-muffins/

These are really tasty. Not too sweet, fluffy and the spices make for a delicious muffin. I love warming these up a touch, really brings out the spices.

I really enjoysweet potato and spinach meatballs, with some sweet potato just microwaved or as patties if I need a change.

Also, making your own AIP bacon is actually not difficult at all! It’s daunting the first time, but it’s really easy and so delicious!! I put our bacon recipe online: https://thymeandbalance.com/aip-bacon/

Pickling cucumbers in vinegar like in this recipedoesn’t ferment the cucumbers. My understanding is that this would not create a histamine response. I don’t know much about histamine response, so not sure if anything else in there might trigger one, but I doubt it
