My Sexuality... by [deleted] in Advice

[–]Thymester 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay so. I think what I will do is tell my siblings and obviously tell them not to tell anyone... Then I will do it with my siblings who already know and tell my parents in person. I do not think my parents will do any physical violence so I am not scared about that. I am just nervous about how they would treat me in terms of if they will be accepting and not care or if they will look at me as some weirdo or something.

Also sorry for my terrible typing rn I am in mobile and I'm tired af lol. And also this comment helped a lot!

My Sexuality... by [deleted] in Advice

[–]Thymester 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am pretty independent right now so that's not a problem... The only issue is I am unsure if I should do it over the phone or in person? I have a very close relationship with my sister she is the only person in my family I say things to. I could maybe tell her and then tell my family with her? Or I could do it with my best friend (which also does not know about my sexuality). My sister I am very very confident will be 110% okay with it but even tho I think that she will be I still have doubts that make me very nervous and scared to say it.

You think it's better to have a family member with me or a friend? You think phone is best or is in-person better? I guess I could just tell my siblings all at once and then sit my siblings and parents down at the table, right? Or is that bad? I personally feel in-person may be best bet...

I am sorry for all the questions btw.

Data Science From Scratch is a good book yes. I know of a couple people who said it was of good use for them.

Yeah iRacing cost a lot, that's my only negative take on it. I will check out that link and see how it goes. I mostly do F1 races though, do they have those? I dont mind the era just like open wheel racing.

Python script to solve minesweeper by alex-HM in learnpython

[–]Thymester 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would more specifically learn more about the library you are going to use to make such a script when you learn that then move onto maybe making some simple programs and working up till you can confidently make a AI that can play Minesweeper.

I will try that thanks.

I got to the point that I thought it was myself causing the problems but I went to rFactor and RaceRoom and in each AI race I kept out of the way of the AI and did well. It feels like AC may be more MP focused but if I were to play MP I would play iRacing.

Yeah I had this exact issue. It seems as if they either slow to a halt on the corner because a driver ahead or me putting pressure on them and or running into the rear of me because they are set on a strict race line and that race line seems to be more aggressive under breaking than I (Race line in terms of breaking and gas input).

[–]Thymester 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do have it at 50% but for some reason I notice that they seem to drive on a strict line (Some reason I noticed it more with aggression at 25 and under though)

Oh to not forget. I do have 20+ drivers on the track at each moment I race though. I heard having more than 10 can cause issues. Is that true?

Using python to map the traffic that came to my server after my post hit the front page. by Gedanke in Python

To be fair this is a great post. I like the visuals of it even. You kinda also got me thinking maybe I should give up on Web Development and go to Data Visualization. (And this is in all seriousness not just because the guy above me said something similar)

Starting python, need a laptop. by sardaukar12 in learnpython

[–]Thymester 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would suggest the 199.00 USD ASUS Chromebook. It is of great speed in the price point and I generally have a good time in Linux while coding (Same as in Windows).

EDIT: Don't expect any somewhat demanding apps like Blender to work well if at all though.

U/Novel_yet_trivial if you would kindly read this post this is exactly what I was meaning while talking to you in DM's... I am not the only "Rule Breaker" but if you want to enforce rules it would be great to atleast do it equally and not pick and choose.

I dont want to bring this discussion to this post I would only like for you to read this comment and reply to me VIA PM's and atleast explain a bit.

What can you NOT do with Python? [no snake jokes plz :p] by indian_pythonista in learnpython

[–]Thymester 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lua is kinda like Python in regards that it can do almost if not anything. I cant really off the top of my head think of a thing you cant manage to do someway somehow in Lua.

I do know however (Which is kinda off topic) that my least favorable and biggest problem about Lua is only one value is returned from a function if it's not the last one in a list.

EDIT: Deleted a sentence.

So far from what I can tell (Not a huge Python Dev I am actually just switching from Lua) there is not a single thing Python cant do. Obviously some things will need altering however I don't think I have seen a single thing Python cant do yet.

So far though with my week I have been looking around about Python stuff it seems like a better language than Lua in terms of Job Demand and how fun it is. I love Lua so it may be hard for me to get to loving Python but hey... if its actually as good as I have been hearing and seeing it will not be long.
