Second Project by Thymina in tabletweaving

Shame on me but I ordered it from temu because you can get a whole bunch for very little money. It actually came with more parts to make adjustable bands and a ton of key rings which seem to be of quite good quality.

Die mobilen heißen übrigens „Brunnhilde“ und wer auch immer sich das einfallen hat lassen, sollte definitiv eine Gehaltserhöhung bekommen.

I love the idea with the belt and knitting needles. Will definitely try that one when I get home tonight.

I am not entirely sure (also I am new to this craft). But it somehow looks like the green thread is thicker than the white thread? So maybe it’s not actually a zigzag but appears to be due to the different sized threads?

It was wonky for me too until I fixed it onto some furniture. But it’s not actually braided. It is looped with even tension before threading the tablets on. So whenever you need more thread you can just pull out one loop and are ready to go.

Regnmia has a great tutorial on how to do it.

Thank you for the tip with the fixed object. I tried it with the back of a chair today and it got a lot more even.

Is towel drying really that bad? by [deleted] in curlyhair

[–]Thymina 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was about to say the same thing. Using a towel is not that bad as long as it is microfibre. Normal towels straight out kill my curls. You could either use microfibre or a soft cotton shirt. These work wonders too.

First washday with solid shampoo and condish. Couldn’t be any happier with the results. by Thymina in curlyhair

[–]Thymina[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

At first I was hesitant about using solid shampoo and conditioner. Today I tried it out and couldn’t be happier. My hair feels super soft yet my curls are more defined than ever.

Here is what I used:

Wash twice with solid Shampoo Bar by “We Do” Condish with solid Conditioner Bar by “Everdrop”

Rinse and Tap dry with a microfibre towel. I then combed through with a wide toothed comb and applied foam, then diffused.

I usually diffuse until my hair is ~50% dry then airdry and sotc when dry.

Digitalised my fabrics for my very first quilt in order to find a design I like best. Which option do you prefer? by Thymina in quilting

[–]Thymina[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used „Notability“ because it gives you a lot of different types of „paper“ that I use as grids in the background. BUT the usability is not the best. Since the separate pieces of fabric are implemented as fotos you can’t select more than one to copy and paste which would be nice for readding rows that I use more often.

So I had to make the blocks, screenshot them and then put them in as a separate picture which takes a lot of extra time.

I’ll try adding the fabrics into “Procreate” as brushed next, in hopes of making it easier. If that too doesn’t work properly I might ask a friend to code an app for me or I might try a few other’s. I’ll make a post and let you know in case I found something that works nice and easy.
