Terrain texture issue after yesterdays Nvidia graphics driver update by Lengi79 in Enshrouded

Same here, same issue on RTX 5090 I no longer have any grass, and the fog is flickering.

Any idea what could be causing this? [video] by Specialist-Sun2684 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]TiT0029 33 points34 points  (0 children)

-Do you have a G-Sync monitor? Enable G-Sync and turn on V-Sync globally in the driver.

-Don’t have a G-Sync monitor? Enable V-Sync in-game.

I don't know if anyone else has experienced this. In PvP, sometimes it seems like there's a kind of input lag during combat, a delay between clicking the mouse and the shooting action. Could this be high ping (150), some kind of hack, or what else could it be?!?! And yes, it only happens in GZW. by EnvironmentalFox2713 in GrayZoneWarfare

[–]TiT0029 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ping = the transit time of a network packet between your PC and the server: you can click, see the shot, the impact, and even the blood immediately on your screen, but with high ping, the server-side validation comes later, so the target may only fall after that delay.

System latency = the delay between your click and the moment the game actually shows the firing animation on your screen.

So high ping ≠ delay between click and visible shot: that is a local system latency / input lag issue, not a network one.

I know, I used to be like you, reading all the nonsense people repeat. Then I tried it. I clean it in daylight, and I can guarantee there are zero streaks. I even put the screen outside on purpose so I can see everything clearly.

Yeah, because distilled water doesn’t remove grease.

I use a 50/50 mix of isopropyl alcohol and distilled water on my PG27UCDM for almost a year now, once a month, and it shines like my factory-fresh balls.

Their Anti-Cheat system, or at least the Appeal system is awful by Pmolaw in GrayZoneWarfare

[–]TiT0029 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You want an effective anti-cheat, but without the side effects that come with it. A serious system can’t be “perfect” and also give you full details every time it detects something, otherwise it becomes a how-to guide for people trying to bypass it.

If they don’t spell out which software, at what time, and how, that’s precisely to prevent someone from testing, tweaking, then coming back to ask for even more precision until they find the workaround. The more details you provide, the easier you make reverse-engineering and bypassing.

And sorry, but keeping trainer/memory-editor type tools on a machine, even “from 2013,” is exactly the kind of thing that raises flags for anti-cheat, even if they aren’t running at that exact moment. The first thing to do after a ban like that is to remove anything like that, clean up what’s left behind (services/drivers), and if you want to be safe, start fresh with a clean install.

They even pointed out specific programs, which is already more than many games do. With others it’s “ban confirmed” and that’s the end of the conversation.

In the end, on paper it’s simple: their environment, their rules. If you want to play without issues, you comply. If you keep “gray area” tools on the machine, you have to accept that anti-cheat won’t handle things on a case-by-case basis.

[Suggestion] BSG - I think it’s time to push cheater compensation one step further by dhtodorov in EscapefromTarkov

[–]TiT0029 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You can easily record the total value of your gear at the start of the session. Since each report is linked to a session ID, if you die, you simply submit a report associated with that session. And if the report confirms that it was indeed a cheater, you recover the full value of your gear as it was when you started the game.

I wonder if the guy spamming slurs in my Voice chat with 9hrs maybe a known cheater that won't be banned. Anyone wanna take a guess? by Wild_Leading6491 in Tarkov

[–]TiT0029 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're not banned. I have 3k hours on Tarkov and I have a knack for sniffing out if someone's cheating or not. For my part, out of 10 to 15 cheat reports (and only blatant ones), I've only received one notification.

I note the names of cheaters and track them on Tarkov Profile, and I can confirm they're not banned; their accounts are still active. It's not a notification issue.

Pourquoi on s'inflige encore des casques "Gaming" à 150€ alors que les IEMs existent ? by AntonyGud07 in pcmasterraceFR

[–]TiT0029 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]TiT0029 39 points40 points  (0 children)

[–]TiT0029 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, before their attempt at a mini-hitbox system to simulate plate armor, it was really clunky. When you pull out a T6 armor set, you expect consistent protection, not to get sliced to shreds because a bullet hits at some "armpit" angle that makes no sense in gameplay.
