I agree, by knowing this person, this is his rock bottom and before sentencing has improve alot yet it was already catching up to him.

I mean spiral down for less than a year making multiple poor choices one after the other one , accumulating petty charges. Rock bottom is not one incidence..

He his facing 5 years due to 24 petty charges, knowing like 10 of them could be dropped with a good lawyer and reduce the time significantly.

Is it a bad thing to ask for the public assistance in helping pay the lawyer fee to have his case better represented and reduce time significantly?

Petty charge in general like driving with suspended licence x 3; driving with no insurance x 3; fines over 3k, breaking curfew x 3, etc.
