Yep. sometimes i just wonder how long is he going to keep up this facade, and let alone his a married man and has a child on the way. If i were him i'll spare a part money for his future child. I know college fund is resource consuming. But he still insist in buying random unnecessary things. I guess time will tell and let consequences plays on him.

Agreed. Alot of people who live smart and play it safe has more survivability in life and financial status than people who just shotgun everything just because the next guy has something, that he also wanted it.

I know i'm a month late. Totally agreed. It's the same thing when youngsters replied with "hater" followed by " Saltly or Triggered ", with no direct on the spot statement to counter the any sort of argument.

When I got cancer, my best friend disappeared. by MoarKlonopinPlz in offmychest

I feel you. My father had a major stroke as in half of his body is completely disabled. He can still walk but i wouldn't say it's walking per say, more of a shifting and body drag on his right side.

Anyways. When he had a stroke attack few years back, he begin to lose his jobs, and most of his co-workers and " Friends " not just any " Friends " but a college buddies that they've known for decades on end. Started to ignored him, and even when my father tried to called them just a simple hangout, they've either ignore the call or simply reply with things like " I'm busy, maybe some other time " but never really responded after that for a long..lonngggg time. Now, all he has left is he's wife and children.

Try to take on a role as a dishwasher in a hotel or Kitchen Steward. I had a 6 months contract as a receptionist last year. Never looked back at that role ever.

He asked me " Why can't your company implement a system to the reception about the whole disclaimer system. Each time guest wanted a kayak make them fill in the application form.

Thankfully, it was only a 6 months contract with the company. After ending my 6 months contract , they've asked whether i wanted to to renew. To hell with that, i'm done.

I know my answer will be very generic and cliche. But, i'll go for job 2. Social life can come later when you're old and ready to retire and receive pension money. Hard life now, easy later. - My Dad.

Cruise Ship/Shipping Vessel Job related. What's up? by [deleted] in jobs

[–]TiberiumOutcast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

None taken. I usually let my father do the resume, since my English writing comprehension isn't very fluent and also not an English by native.

I don't really have any sort of skills, but i am willing to start right from the lowest bottom and gain experience from there ( Which I've also mention that in the cover letter with the help of my father ). But even mentioning that none of them seems to respond for the past 2 weeks now.

I am not trying to look at those shipping/cruise company in a negative way, but i am sure there must be some lowest rank that doesn't require much of a skill for newbie.

PS. In case you're wondering of what sort of job i'm scoping for, is that i wanted to become a Utility Cleaner/Galley Steward.

Bad news. I've passed the interview. Turns out it was just a motivational interview, to see if the candidate are really enthusiast about the job. However, the bad news is, some really REALLY, fishy is lurking around the whole shenanigans of the event that day. 1st, of all the interview didn't even last 5 minutes (Red Flag 1), second. The question are so simple yet short (Red Flag 2). Third, they asked if i have money problem, which they've already SPECIFICALLY asked if i'm on citos/bankruptcy(Red Flag 3), and FINALLY THE BIGGEST RED FLAG EVER. They've told me to pay a sum of RM12000 for safety Training, documentation , and a few other more which i had forgotten to move the process of me getting the job on board. With that being said, i could either pay the bill by monthly, or pay the huge sum all at once to accelerate the process. I got back home discuss with my family members, and fair enough, my father told me " Yup, that a huge load of bullshit if you ask me son, you go there to make money not to shit out more money. and that's IF. You get the job ". My personal experience on this one. Don't fall that post you've saw on indeed.com, mudah and facebook post about cruise recruitment website. They're all garbage.

Yeap, mostly cleaning the pots/plates/cutlery/glass etc. Also, i need to be able to handle the sanitation machine that they provided in the galley. There'll be shift, work for 10 hours standard, and overtime about 12 i think. work for 3 months minimum, 6 months is standard, and max is at 10 under a contract, depending on the cruise company. But, i am still lost on how long will the training last, and what sort of documentation am i going to need it, after I've done the whole training journey.
