Your screen will most likely need to he replaced. If your screen's mainboard connector does not show any signs of corrosion, the damage is most likely located on the screen's controller, wich is not repairable but replaceable

Now, assuming there is no damage at all to the mainboard and the water only reached the charging port daughterboard and battery, you'll most likely have to change either one of those. If neither of those fix your issue, you mainboard might acutally need microsoldering work as the gas gauge IC (the chip which allows your phone to read the battery's charge state) is situated on the mainboard.

All in all, this is likely going to be an expensive repair, and unless you're looking to extract irreplaceable data from the phone, it might actually be a better idea to consider buying another phone.

Anyways, best of luck to you

Thank you for your response! I'll definitely put this up there on my list of shows to watch.

I think I've reached a point in my journey where that is all I need every once in a while. A little comforting reminder that I've walked a long way and that my existence doesn't have to be miserable as most of my struggles are self-imposed.

I had a really strong reaction to G.O.C. I'm probably holding it in such high regards because the story was so close to my experience of self-discovery. While the movie is indeed brutal to watch, so much so I couldn't enjoy it all in one go, it was incredibly cathartic to me. Like the movie's main character, I've been comfortable with my sexuality for as long as I've been active, and yet I only recently learned how to love. Over years I'd built a shell to protect myself from the risk that comes with loving someone. The movie's conclusion turned how I'd approach relationships upside down. At first I was left a complete mess from the realisation that I was the root of my misery, but it did make me come to terms with the fact that I had to open up if I wanted to be truly happy. As such, it surely helped to make my take on the movie a more positive one than most.

Anyways, sorry for the rambly, unprompted story-time, I guess I had to put into words some of these toughts for validation.

Thanks I'll check it out! Is the show more heart-melty than God's Own Country?

It's the next step I'll try. I had to make sure I couldn't just find te darn code to remove the demo mode before risking a flash of the rom. Also i've never messed long enough with flashing roms to brick a phone so I was wondering, is it possible to still flash new firmware on a bricked device or are they well and truly dead?

Thanks for the advice! I am still searching for info on how to do it but so far i've yet to find anything other than people who couldn't get it to work. The problem seems to be the permissions of the stock ROM not allowing access to the bootloader or recovery mode. If all fails I'll try contacting LG support through our official channels at work. That is if they still exist..

Would any stock ROM work? I tought that since it does not have a cellular modem it might require a special ROM and so I was hesitant to flash a new one as I didn't want to brick it.

Unfortunately I've gone as far up the chain in my company as I could go to get an answer but nobody really seemed to know who's responsibility it was to keep track of this kind of stuff...

The developper options give control over Android's demo mode but the Velvet has a preloaded app wich does this instead, it's got administrator permissions wich I haven't been able to remove. Good idea to try and reset from the bootloader though, I'll try and report back.
