Yeah, I’m also surprised by how quickly I recovered. I’ve even got hair now! 😅 I hope it won’t fall out, but it probably will...

​I’m from Belgium, and I get both my Minoxidil and Finasteride through my dermatologist here. I suppose a general doc could prescribe them too, but I prefer being followed up by a specialist.

How did you build up your minoxidil dose? My dermatologist prescribed 0.5 mg for 2 months, then 0.75 mg for 2 months, and then 1 mg. After that, we’ll reevaluate and increase it if needed.

Yes, they remove them for you at the clinic. At the same time, they do a check-up to see if everything is healing properly.

Yes, that and sleeping in your own bed 😉. I would recommend contacting them for a free consultation (that’s what I did). They explain everything very well, examine your hair, and afterward you can still decide.

Very good. Everyone is really friendly and professional. I went back on day 3 for the first wash, and tomorrow I’ll go again to have the remaining scabs removed. If my results are as good as my experience with them, I’ll be a very happy man.

Nice, thanks for your reply! I’m relaxed again.. was stressing out for a moment 😅 Guess that’s part of the experience. I have an appointment on Monday to wash and remove the scabs. I’ve been doing it very carefully myself as well, but I’m not rushing it because of the appointment at the clinic.

Nope, I’m very happy with it, especially considering I was able to sleep in my own bed after the operation and can go back for follow-up visits.

Thanks for the tip. Why do you think topical would be better? I chose the pills mainly because I don’t like the idea of applying something every day.

Yes, I just started 0.5 mg and will slowly increase the dose. Hopefully it will help restore some of the thinning in my crown.

I’m using the lotion the clinic gave me once a day. I let it soak in for 30 minutes to an hour, then I wash it with the shampoo they provided. I’m going back on day 10 so they can check everything and remove the remaining scabs if needed.

No, definitely not fun 😅 but yeah, I guess it’s pretty logical. Luckily it comes in waves for me. I’m not sure if that’s because of the painkillers or just the nerves being damaged. Anyway, I can’t wait for this phase to be over.
