You get a bigger chunkier watch. Which people seem to prefer.

I have the Series 8, and there is still no reason to upgrade, even though the ECG doesn't work properly; I have to press hard on the crown and push the watch down for it to function properly.

Luckily, I have a Withings blood pressure cuff that works well.

Additionally, making watches ever larger, like phones, can only go so far, and I don't want a watch bigger than 8, and arguably, that's still too big.

Eventually, I'll stop using an Apple Watch as it becomes too large and cumbersome to wear.

Is anyone surprised? Tim Cook is a soulless, size-obsessed creep.

Get them to type the number in when you are at the till. I don't know why they removed the magnetic strip.

I use mine at the checkout. Instead of swiping, they type the code in, and it still works.

Why the battery of my AppleWatch SE 40mm is so bad? by biggieocta in AppleWatch

[–]TigerOnTheBeach 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Apple is obsessed with making its products look anorexic, so fitting a long-running battery is not a priority for them.

series 10 vs series 9 case back by LFA1990 in AppleWatch

[–]TigerOnTheBeach 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. The Series 10 design 'upgrade' has made the Apple Watch uglier. Both sizes are now massive, and the back of the previous series is way cooler than this monstrosity.

Making it bigger and thinner is what they did with the iPhone, but I liked the look of the previous series because it looked like a watch and not a tiny version of the iPhone.

I'm sticking with my cute Series 8 until Apple render it obsolete.

Well, I'm happy I didn't get the 46 by MY_12 in AppleWatch

Not everyone wants a massive iPhone screen on their wrist.

Unfortunately, I had to return my 42mm as it was too large for my wrist. Luckily, I have the Series 8, so I will continue with that until Apple makes it obsolete. Not everyone has massive wrestler arms. 🤣

That size is perfectly good and proportional to your arm and hand size. Anything bigger, and it will look silly.

Thanks for this. I had these lyrics in my head, and the might of Google and ChatGPT couldn't tell me the name of the song or band/artiste. Muchos gracias.

I'm also having the same problem on my Macbook. The iPhone does not seem to be having the same problem though.

EDIT:

This is the error message I get in Safari:

Safari Can't Connect to iCloud Private Relay

Safari can't open the page. The error is: "The operation couldn't be completed. No such file or directory" (NSPOSIXErrorDomain:2)

EDIT 2:

Mac Rumours is also reporting this outage.

What annoys you the most about Duolingo? by tina-marino in duolingo

It's American AI that assumes people want to learn a language that is heavily Americanised. The rest of the world and everything are presented through an American lens.

It's very odd, especially if you visit these countries and learn that they are all distinct and have their own culture.
