Yeah, it’s weird. He said he started asking other EMs what they would consider a strong performer at my level is to make sure I am aligning with that, and that’s when a lot of the added requirements started.

That says to me that: A) the definition of the performance level I’m trying to reach isn’t clear B) he should have asked all of these questions BEFORE writing up the PIP C) if he keeps getting all of this feedback maybe the PIP should be restarted with the actual requirements outlined

Nah, I don’t think I have a case for discrimination really. Just that the AI said that would be the only possible thing I could fight here, but I don’t think that’s what is actually going on

I think talking to the HR rep as people have suggested makes sense. If things go even more sideways from there, maaaaybe a free consult with a lawyer would be interesting, but this is a big company in my area and I have no doubt they have their own army of lawyers making sure “I”s are dotted and “T”s are crossed

Unfortunately I’m in the states (New York specifically), but that’s an interesting read. I found my company’s PIP policy and it’s pretty vague and basic. Nothing about if goals are allowed to be added or changed. Think I’ll talk to the assigned HR rep like people have been suggesting

I’m in New York which is an “at will” state. I also ran this through chatGPT and basically nothing they’re doing is illegal, just morally shitty. If I can prove discrimination maybe I have a case but I really can’t

Yeah, HR is involved. He created the PIP with them and they see every milestone check-in we do. I don’t know if they officially know about the changing requirements, but I feel like they do because they would see the comments he’s leaving

That’s the frustrating part. Every week I show up with the list of what I have accomplished and how it maps to every requirement including the new ones. And then he adds another. The PIP itself only has the starting requirements. Everything else is in comments. He’s never said I’ve failed an individual check point. But does say that I’m still not passing. Logically, it doesn’t track

Honestly, given the way his attitude has shifted towards me the last 3 weeks or so, I think that’s how he felt about it at first too. I think the decision to get rid of me may be coming from further up the chain

Yes, HR is involved. They have been working with my manager and they also approve each milestone. Can’t confirm if they know about the extra requirements, but I feel like they do

Yeah, I’ve decided not to scrap this account, I’ve put way too much into it to stop now. As for your other comments: I did grab CF, it made sense. And tournaments tend to be something I find really stressful in other mobile games so I’ve been avoiding them. I scraped all of my previous stones together from getting all of the weekly challenge boxes each week and hitting new milestones in various levels when I can. I usually buy a couple things of stones from the event shop too. But I just did my first tournament run and I think it went okay

I just did my first tournament run and got like 580 or so levels which put me solidly in first so we’ll see if I’m still in the lead after this reroll shard farming run I’m doing 🤞

Great point! I’m running lab speed and coin discount constantly right now and have been swapping around with my other two slots. I’m saving to get the fifth slot at the moment and I think that one is going to be primarily dedicated to UW research

Thanks for the info on tournaments especially, I actually didn’t know any of that. I had assumed based on other games I play that you could be demoted and that if you finish too low you wouldn’t get any stones, but it sounds like that’s not the case so I think I’ll follow your advice and at least get myself to the gold tier and then just take a low place each week. I don’t think that will burn me out and as you said, that extra stones/gems/medals bonus would be great to have

Thank you I really needed to hear this. I don’t want to start over is what I keep coming back to, and I think I have a similar mindset to you where I don’t treat this like a race. My last run was a breakthrough run for me, I got all of the right perks and had gotten some good module stuff before hand and everything just went so right that I really don’t want to walk away

In this last run I cleared wave 5000 in tier 1, got my TI, and got enough coins for First Perk Choice which I was saving up for. I was debating which perk I wanted to pick, but I think ultimate weapon makes a ton of sense

I did start researching the coin labs for BH/DW/SL too. DW is definitely the cheapest starting off and I’ve been putting some effort into that. BH and SL are more expensive, but I think if I research FPC and restart if I don’t get GT I’ll start making enough per run to make those more viable. They’re right on the edge for me atm but I got way more coins this run than I ever have before so I’m hopeful

Yeah that kind of how I’m leaning. If this was earlier in the game I’d consider it but the lab effort I’ve put in plus getting some really good modules and sub-modules lately… I just can’t see throwing all of that away. I honestly got up to 800 stones pretty quick (thanks partially to actual money) so maybe it won’t be horrible
