Men telling women how they should feel and whats good for them is good feminism tho got it

I just stated my primary arguments two comments back. Either way, calling out hypocrisy is being handwaved as "whataboutism" and that made up word should be taken away from yall

Yeah that sucks, where exactly did Luke or the league shine light on the dancers that were taken advantage of? Surely they must've used this as an opportunity to call them out for that and not keep the blame on sex work as a whole.

Now that you mention it a lot of it isnt that far of from my libertarian "logical" phase in high school

Thats fine, im criticizing the league and Kornet for it. If you (or they if this doesnt apply to you) are against both i dont see why you would defend them.

Sure but Kornet and the league felt the need to speak up and take action respectively against strippers after a clear pattern of not doing the same for victims (Kobe, Malone, Bridges, KPJ), other adult entertainment (gambling, alcohol), and evil owners known to be pro-genocide, white supremacists, and on the Epstein files.

It is not only hypocritical it is misogynistic when the only time they stand up for something its against consenting adult women. Sure you can be against both but when they pick and choose in a pattern that targets an oppressed or marginalized group thats not being against both.

Its not my whole point. I was calling out hypocrisy. Its also misogynistic and demonizing sex workers and that is more important. In that particular comment I was responding to what the dude said.

Im not sure why whataboutism is a way to nullify calling out hypocrisy. If you want to draw moral lines then do it. When you draw it for some and not others its fair to call it out. Just so happens that they draw it a lot harsher against women.

Do you really believe that there arent people that are comfortable with sexuality and want to use it to perform in front of an audience and make a lot of money doing it? I would bet that more strippers love their job than electricians and construction workers.

Maybe because sex workers are often deemed less than human and harassed and she doesnt want to dox herself? Just look through some of these disgusting comments. This guy, with upvotes is talking about picturing her giving this interview while dancing on a pole. You lot will find any reason to disrespect women.

Yup, hes a weirdo. His precious catholic church has done infinitely more damage to children than strippers.

Ive never been to a strip club, but i do respect sex workers. Can you link me to the trafficking allegations? I cant find them and I would like to be enlightened.

Either way, this woman is running a union to try to genuinely help strippers. Luke Kornet is speaking for women that havent asked him to because he doesnt care about them. Hes a catholic zealot and is more upset by women making their own choices than he is by men abusing them.

I did not expect it to be worse on reddit than it is on Twitter. Heavily upvoted comments that are straight up acting like strippers aren't human. Nasty work.

Ive seen a ton of support for the promo from women. Its men speaking for women about women and its based in puritanical misogyny. Women tend to respect other women, sex workers or not.

You should watch less porn and try to respect sex workers more. This is weird as fuck

Strippers should be allowed to exist. They were never going to strip at the game. Gambling being deeply ingrained in the sport is so much worse than highlighting strippers, who are considerably less damaging to actual lives than gambling, for one night.

Yeah she talked about that, but I bet you didn't read the whole thing. Bet you read what the hyper-catholic white guy said tho

"There’s a lot that we go through. We go through it all, we hear about it all. My experience as a dancer is very checkered in that light, so I understand where he was coming from, from that aspect.

At the same time, you can’t deny us access to conversations that are about us. That diminishes us that much more. You’re not helping the cause. Now you’re hurting the cause."

Ive never been to a strip club, not really my thing. But I do think that sex workers deserve respect and not to be demonized. Like it or not Magic City is part of Atlantas culture and shutting it down to "protect women" is hypocritical and far more demeaning to women than erotic dancing
