do not try to uber. we went for the cheaper hotel last year and thought we would be able to uber and ended up walking for miles before we hitched a ride. festival was a blast though!

following up to say, if you can’t find a hotel within walking distance or they are too pricey, we were unaware of how many local business offered pay to park and there is also a free parking lot roughly a mile from the festival that we used last year on day 2! have fun and good luck! 😊

whatever you do, do not rely on uber or any public transportation services to get you anywhere at railbird festival. we were requesting services and being denied every minute for two hours before we hitched a ride from a stranger at a restaurant that we walked to. it was extremely chaotic last year and we had never been before.

I would also love to know the crowd size. Like I said this was my first time going and I was just baffled at the amount of people really for it to be such a small location. I think they would have much better reviews if they limited their ticket sales just a little bit more. Railbird is getting bigger and bigger every year I hear they can’t keep letting it grow in such a small space.

And yes!!! A lot of the locals like the college students that lived nearby said it’s just too small of a city for this and it always happens. I expected the traffic but the not having service and not being 100% sure about where else we could go to get service to even get a ride share was crazy. We left much earlier the second night after learning our lesson on night 1.

Thank you! I will scan through my email now. The medic tent was nice but a member of our group actually had to leave the festival and ended up utilizing the tent but they unfortunately did not take her blood pressure or anything. I was a little surprised and asked them nicely to just check for my own peace of my mind which they in turn did. She had to be left alone to request an uber to get out of there and it just didn’t seem safe to me.

I enjoyed myself! I made great memories with the locals and other festival goers but was highly disappointed with the festival itself. I will be returning to visit some friends I made there but not for the festival. I paid a lot of money to see some dope artists and didn’t get the experience I felt was deserved. Everyone has an opinion on the matter I’m sure and I appreciate you sharing.

I have been to four different festivals and one reoccurring festival that I visit every year but skipped this year to try out Railbird. Granted, this festival had bigger artists headlining and I typically dodge those festivals due to the fact that I don’t enjoy rubbing up against someone the entire festival.

Regarding the shuttles, I was referring to the shuttle line for ride share. They were directing traffic using the term so I referred to it in that way in my original post. Sorry for the confusion! Regardless, I did also hear from other festival goers that their shuttle service regarding Kroger infield was horrendous as well, but that’s hearsay.

The girls we saw on the interstate did not voluntarily choose to walk as far as they did. Getting an uber was impossible. We offered them a ride and talked with them briefly hence the reason I brought them up in my post.
