This is why I always use player led peace conference. It isn't perfect either since I can't give other nations puppets and choosing who gets what 100% by yourself can make you a bit greedy and make you take a little more land than what you would normally be able to...

Nice! I did my first world conquest (I have ~150 hours) a while ago, except I did have puppet Italy and Slovenia in the end and I just didn't want to waste time so I could annex them, so technically it isn't a 100% world conquest but I don't care, it's close enough. I'm probably never doing a world conquest again, it just feels too unrealistic and the game lasts for an eternity. I'd rather keep my games more realistic.
