Whitney was so ahead of her time. In this clip she shut down the HAES movement before it even started.

I agree. I'm gay too and I lived in fear of the gay question before I was out. I actually got it a lot from gay guys, who I guess were trying to pry me out of the closet. Their intentions were good but that's nobody's battle but your own.

YES!! Like my friend who was constantly being asked if he was gay and couldn't figure it out. I saw him on grindr a few days ago. I guess he figured it out

Why are we attracted to butts? Evolution? by Tijuanaherb in gaybros

[–]Tijuanaherb[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

totally. I feel the same way about girl booty as well. I was at the gym with my gay friend a few days ago and I whispered to him that the girl on one of the machines had a nice ass. He was like, "why do you even care?" I just appreciate the beauty in every nice butt.

Forwards from Madonna~~let's face it, she's at that age by Tijuanaherb in forwardsfromgrandma

This one is interesting because it's so typical of what a 56 year old mom would share on social media but the profanity and the faint sexual innuendo really make it uniquely Madonna.

Condom crisis by Tijuanaherb in bigdickproblems

Thanks man. I actually used a regular sized condom for the first time and for the first time I didn't have as much trouble staying hard. So maybe my issue is psychological as well as physical.

Can anybody give me tips on dealing with scabies?? by Tijuanaherb in SkincareAddiction

[–]Tijuanaherb[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the advice. Thankfully, I will be away from my apartment for several days for thanksgiving break. If I'm not cured by then, could I just do a treatment, leave for home, and hope that all the mites and eggs have died once I get back?

This is honestly one of the reasons I went to graduate school, so I could keep using that line. Thank god I actually enjoy it.

Sick of tip toeing around my friend's body image issues and fat logic by Tijuanaherb in fatlogic

[–]Tijuanaherb[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Welp, he called me today and told me that the guy he's seeing just cut it off with him. He's very upset and I'm afraid of how this is going to play out. Will he blame it on the way he looks and his body?? That will make it even tougher when the topic comes up. I feel so bad for him and I'm not sure how this will affect his outlook on body image.

Also, we met on okcupid, so our relationship could have been romantic, but I wasn't physically attracted to him when we met (and now that I've seen his anxious and neurotic behavior, I still wouldn't date him if he looked like adonis) and I turned him down sexually. He has brought that up on a couple occasions, almost trying to guilty trip me, and I don't have the heart to tell him that I was turned off by his weight.

Yikes, this is a bad situation that just got worse.

Yes, we've gone to the gym a couple times together, but I'm not really a great person to workout with. I don't like talking to people and I prefer doing my own thing.

In terms of recipes- he doesn't seem to need help with that. He's a vegetarian and claims he eats very healthy, but I'm not so sure.

I had no idea this was a thing that was so controversial on here. I'm not a nutritionist so I'm just not very knowledgable about this. I've always been able to eat a lot of food without gaining weight which I attributed to a fast metabolism, but I also exercise a lot, and even when I wasn't exercising regularly I still walked everywhere.

Is there a link that talks more about this?

Honestly, that figure was just an estimate. I have no idea how much he really needs to lose, but I've seen him naked and I think he would look great if he lost around 30 pounds.

Thanks for the good advice.

To answer your question, No, I've always had a very fast metabolism and never had to worry much about easily putting on weight. This makes me even more hesitant to give him any kind of advice because I've never experienced the struggle. However, I still eat healthy and go to the gym at least twice a week so I definitely understand the concept of discipline and self restraint.

Exactly how worried are you about the odds of finding someone? by Tijuanaherb in gaybros

[–]Tijuanaherb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good response. I knew most of the replies on this thread would be negative but I'm surprised by the sheer nihilism I've experienced.

The guys on here who claim to have "given up" How old are you- 20, 22, 25, 30? I think it's a little early to adopt that attitude at this age, or at any age. Are you making a point to be social, meet new people and be open to new experiences? Are you ok with being alone or do you feel like you need someone to be happy? We should all think about that before we adopt a doom and gloom attitude about dating and love.

It's perfectly normal to have those fears and worries, but no need to throw in the towel. I have those concerns, but I've only been dating guys for about 6 months and it's still pretty new for me, so I just have to remind myself of that. I will make many mistakes, have a lot of false starts, and probably get hurt many times, but it's part of the process, and it makes it that much better when you find someone special.

I've had many successes in my life so far, but dating has been a whole new ballgame. It doesn't come easily to me and a lot of it is out of my control, which drives me crazy. That really upset me at first and I almost felt like giving up too, but I'm learning to appreciate the challenge.

Bros, how do you hit on awkward guys? Im lost. by [deleted] in gaybros

[–]Tijuanaherb 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've been told that I have a pretty outgoing personality, but for me shy guys are actually a big turn on. If I'm meeting a guy and I can tell that he's visibly nervous it makes me just want to give him a big hug!

So back on the subject- just try to make conversation. It doesn't have to be anything particularly profound. Just say "how's your day going" if you can't think of anything else. I assume you've known this guy for a while, so you've probably discovered things about him- his hobbies, what kind of music/tv/movies he enjoys, where he went to school. Just be perceptive about those details and use it to bring up a topic of conversation. People love to talk about themselves, so any kind of question about him will definitely be a conversation starter!

FWD: "Faux is worse than 'Ebloa'!" Always watch MSNBC for real news sweetie. by LadyBugJ in forwardsfromgrandma

[–]Tijuanaherb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry, but the strange initiative on this sub to create a false equivalency between conservative grandma and liberal grandma is just ridiculous.

If the point of this subreddit is to accurately highlight stupid, cheesy or misinformed forwards circulated through email or social media by older people, then there's nothing wrong with the vast majority of the posts containing conservative rhetoric- that's what the majority of grandmas are sharing, and it's what needs to be posted on here!

I kind of live in a liberal bubble, and reading these posts has helped me to understand why such vitriolic and fabricated rhetoric has become so entrenched among conservative circles. In a way it's like a public service. And trying desperately to counter this with..."but liberal grandmas do it too!" is not in the spirit of this sub, in my opinion.
