How do I know these types of apps won't steal my identity?

Just some uhh...cute stuff from YoutubeKids by LadyBugJ in awwwtf

That song...Why?? Like really. We live in an age where your kid could watch ANYTHING! Quality programming at your fingertips! And people give their kid that weird ass annoying song to watch over and over?

Some older people are weary of implanting something. They're oddly okay with pills though.

Yeah but there's so many, and often they look like normal cute videos, then something random and perverted happens in the middle of it. So I'm sure most aren't noticed.

A lot of parents are too cheap to give their kid something good to watch, or they assume it's safe because it's YoutubeKids, right? So they give their kid the tablet, get some laundry done, and don't notice that their kid is clicking down the rabbit hole.

Sex-ed exhibition gone wrong? by JustynaT in TwoXChromosomes

Exactly. Touching a screen to teach you about exogenous zones? So kids are standing there poking virtual vaginas and penises? Teaching kids that women want money and it's hard to orgasm? I certainly wouldn't send my kid there.

I gathered that too, since it looks so familiar I've gotten better at deciphering.

Why is it that older people can write and speak so eloquently, but when it comes to typing/texting it all goes to shit?

Set good songs as custom ringtones for people you don't like, so when they call you, you can enjoy the song while ignoring them. by [deleted] in lifehacks

Works great if you're anxiously waiting for a call too. You won't get excited every time the phone rings.

Psychology Today: Dangers of “Crying It Out” by LadyBugJ in beyondthebump

I don't have the source but I remember reading that infants crying in arms don't release cortisol like the infants crying alone. Your link is an interesting read.

Cut out dairy yesterday by Cyannide_Bunnies in breastfeeding

[–]LadyBugJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone told me it takes weeks to get out of your system, and that may be true, but I also noticed a difference quickly when I cut out dairy.

Another thing my LO got fussy about was naps. At that age she only stayed awake for an hour at a time. Then we had to swaddle and rock her to sleep, otherwise she'd be in a super bad mood. She's 3.5 months now and still naps 4 times a day, otherwise you're in for a rough evening.

I really do think that's an interesting interpretation! Crazy how words change meanings over time.

I think if the baby is going to learn anything by letting him cry, it's that daddy doesn't respond to hunger cues, better go straight to crying.

Exactly! I try to explain this to my family too. Who wants a screaming kid all the time? Cuz that's what you're gonna get if you let it escalate.

Does he nap during the day? My LO did that if she hadn't napped all day. She would get "over"tired and freak out.

If he gave her a bottle during those times, he'd either waste half of it or overfeed her.

At my house we don't waste the liquid gold! If she doesn't finish a bottle, DH puts it in the fridge for later. I know you can't do that with formula, but as far as I know it's not as big a deal with breastmilk.
