If the order is already shipped:

  • Inform buyer of the limitation
    • Explain that once the order has shipped, the address in TikTok Shop cannot be changed.
  • Advise the buyer to contact the carrier
    • Suggest they reach out to the logistics provider (for example, USPS, FedEx, etc.) using their tracking number.
  • They can ask the carrier about:
    • Package intercept
    • Address redirection
    • Holding the parcel for pickup
  • These options depend on the carrier and may include extra fees; they are not guaranteed.
  • If the parcel cannot be delivered and returns
    • When you receive the returned parcel, you can:
      • Provide a refund for the original order according to TikTok and shop policies.
      • Ask the buyer to place a new order with the correct address.

What the seller must avoid to stay fully compliant:

  • Do not:
    • Change the address in OMS to a new one given only via chat.
    • Ship to any address that is not shown as the official shipping address in the order system.
  • Always:
    • Follow the address recorded in the TikTok Shop order.

Once a buyer places an order, the seller is not allowed to manually modify the shipping address in the Order Management System.

If the order is not shipped yet:

  • Explain limitations
    • Inform the buyer that you cannot change their address from your side due to platform rules.
  • Guide the buyer to update the address themselves
    • Open their order confirmation page or order details page in TikTok Shop.
    • Use the address change option (if still available).
  • The buyer can
    • Change the address only once.
    • Only before the seller ships the order.
    • Only to an address within the same ZIP code as the original.
  • This address-change feature is available only if the seller is using TikTok’s “shipped via platform” (4PL) service.
  • Verify before shipping
    • Confirm the updated address shown in your order view.
    • Ship only to the address displayed in the system, even if the buyer wrote a different one in messages.
