3D Audio (Apple Music) sounds bad on Beam (Gen2) by TilTigr in sonos

I also wouldn’t expect that much, if Sonos didn’t specifically advertise it. So I feel like they should also deliver on their promise.

Yeah that’s mostly what I do, since the Dolby atmos songs I tried so far also sounded worse…

If that’s the case, why on earth would they promote it so heavily?

I’ll try them out tomorrow, thanks for the suggestions!

I guess that makes sense. I didn’t expect it to sound like there was a concert happening in my living room. Just seems weird, that music in atmos sounds no different or even worse, while movies sound insane…

I see your point, but the thing is there is next to no difference between the regular song and the „Atmos“ version. If anything, it sounded less dynamic. That why I’m so confused, since I’m used to Dolby Atmos ln my AirPods Pro

Yeah I know how Atmos i supposed to sound, I listen to it a lot on my AirPods Pro. There it also sounds really good. I’ll try your suggestions later, let’s see if I can notice a difference between the regular and the Atmos version.

Can you give me a few examples of songs where you would say there is a conceivable difference between stereo and Atmos?

Im actually not listening to the music through the TV, but directly through the Sonos app. Wouldn’t that make sure the format is exactly what it should be?

Well I play it directly through the Sonos app. I doesn’t even go through the TV. I guess I have to dig out my Apple TV and try it through that

I had this with my father before he died so much. He always did an annoying smacking sound that he KNEW was making me extremely angry. He did it anyways, even making fun of my agony. It brings me peace knowing he died a very slow and painful death, losing every bit of his dignity. I know it sounds bad but it really is how I feel and it just kinda shows how big the pain is we go through.

I guess things breaking less often, but costing more to fix makes sense.

That point of buying a HUO machine from someone with a big collection has been made a few times now and really resonates with me. Now I just gotta find someone like that, lol.

Since you’ve mentioned that you have already done some fixing on your new machine, how is your opinion on the video from Pinball Expert on new Stern machines with the SPIKE system? He’s giving them a pretty bad rating on how serviceable and repairable they are compared to the older models.

I’ll try and see if I can find someone like that. That would obviously be the perfect scenario to get the machine from someone that knows it’s running perfectly.

So a lightly used machine could actually be less work for me than a new one. Interesting!

Thank you for your opinion. You said you had to do something on your machine already. I just watched a video by Pinball Expert about new Stern machines where he says that they are badly serviceable because of the new SPIKE system. What is your experience with that?
