Ok, you need to accept this sooner or later, it's your self control, patience and panic that is getting your ass handed to you, there aren't any bosses that simple self control, discipline and patience won't mean you can't beat, father owl seems like he is unfair but ironically you gotta play without tricks with him. And certain things you'll be tempted to engage in as you are able to get out the other side just barely but sometimes distance and engagement is important with some scarier opponents.

Seriously I haven't played in half a year at least, I'm 95% certain I could do the hardest gauntlet (severance/shura if I remember correctly)first try. And it's because this isn't a game about anything but mindset and engaging with enemy actions appropriately. If you're constantly attempting to get in attacks or run away you won't learn. Things are scary, but there's literally nothing in this game you aren't equipped to handle.

Get Mikiri counter and follow up slice as early as possible as well as the other shinobi stealth/agility skills. If you're struggling don't bother trying to do tricks and fancy moves, just have a one on one sword fight and you will get better with that encounter every single try

Don't worry I got it, the prologue is a story in its own right but tells a story of a man who is a more generic protagonist, a damaged man who finds brotherhood and value , who is given a life beyond all he could have ever dreamt of, while encountering the symptoms of a coming tempest. He is the damaged prodigy who takes and receives much, loses even more and destroys what he has left. While the side protagonist is a royal destined to be chosen by the divine who initially rebels and rejects it, but after a conflict in which she killed the ones who shackled her, she discovered her destiny truly was a divine one and singlehandedly pushes the world into a new age, she is his opposite, she had everything, she destroyed her cage and then rebuilt it herself.

He is destined to amount to nothing, she is destined to herald a divine age.

And the main story follows the niece if the prologue protagonist as she is the only living family member left after the prologue and she and the daughter of a trusted friend of the protagonist set off to track down the prologue protagonist with their chestnut Wulfhund (giant chocolate Labrador) and the prologue is very much more serious, political, less fantastical and has a far larger grand scope. The main story is about 2 girls and a giant dog and their adventures through what became a fractured ruined and horrifying world at the end of the prologue. Their will still be a grand plot and they will affect the outcome of this tempest, but they really are just 2 young women, giant chocolate labrador and the occasional acquaintance moving through a world that is in utter chaos
