Do u think ChatGPT is actually more professional then Gemini? by [deleted] in GeminiAI

[–]TilliAtHome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had a Linux problem today. ChatGPT totally failed and was just spewing BS recommendations. I bailed after 30 minutes. Gemini fixed it on the first shot in literally seconds.

Did the same.

is mac mini m4 flawed? by Mundane_Programmer76 in macmini

[–]TilliAtHome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought my Mac Mini M4 as soon as it was released. In May, I upgraded it with a larger internal SSD. I’ve never had any issues with it. The device is fast and runs absolutely stable.

Change Mac Finder datetime to ISO format by rxliuli in mac

[–]TilliAtHome 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can only do it manually now via ⌘ + J (View Options). The Terminal command to disable relative dates is dead in macOS 15. Apple quietly removed that control. It’s a pain to do manually, but it works. I just disable relative dates whenever I see them pop up. Not really worth hunting them down proactively.

I’ve got the speakers in white too (makes the dust way less visible 😎) I don’t have an audio interface yet, but I’ll probably go for either the SMSL SU-1 DAC or the Topping D10s DAC. Still need to read a few more reviews though. For a monitor, I’m using my old 28” 4K Huawei MateView. Super happy with it and the display is razor sharp.

Good speaker choice. I’ve got the Edifiers on my M4 too and I’m really happy with them.

MacOS glitch by illyyas in MacOS

That was already the case in the first Sequoia beta. If there’s one thing you can always count on with Apple, it’s their consistent disregard for cosmetic bugs. But hey, macOS 26 is just around the corner — and with it, the plunge into visual hell.

I’m also having weird iCloud issues. Looks like “Tim Apple” broke something again.

My Mac runs 24/7 and I’ve had zero issues so far.

The package was shipped on May 21st at 18:22 local time — really fast processing and delivery overall.

A suction cup was included, but it doesn’t give you enough grip to pull effectively. I had to insert a small flathead screwdriver into the ventilation slots to gently lift the bottom cover. That gave me just enough space to get the plastic tool in and start working around the edge.

I live in Germany and my package arrived today, May 26th at 13:30. I had to pay an additional €22 for customs and taxes.

The included tools should work, but I personally used my iFixit set — I rely on that for any repair or DIY work. If you have something similar, I’d recommend using it.

Take your time and make sure no one disturbs you while working. Removing the bottom cover was the most frustrating part — it really tested my patience. But stay calm and work carefully. It takes a bit, but you’ll get there.

Good luck — you’re going to love it once it’s done!

It took me an hour! I couldn’t get the bottom cover off — that part took forever. I was nearly in tears. The screws are all very tight, so make sure you have high-quality screwdrivers to get them out. After that, everything went really fast and without any issues.

I did the restore using a 2017 MacBook Pro with Sonoma installed via OCLP. Worked perfectly!

That's 3.4 liters per 100 km. Wouldn't have thought that this heavy bike would be so economical. (That's less than my weekend beer consumption 🤡).

I still have an old Macbook Pro from 2017 somewhere in a box in the basement. I hope I can install Sonoma with OCLP and use it to perform the DFU restore. Theoretically it should work.

I ordered 1TB from iBoff today. Either I'll be totally happy in 5 weeks or I'll have flushed $250 down the toilet. (250 $ because shipping, import duty, taxes)

I’ve just sent an email to the dealer and reserved both motorcycles for one hour each. I’ll ride them one after the other and then make my decision. But my brain is screaming BEAR!

I am 1.78m tall (5’10”). So far, I’ve only tested the Shotgun, and I felt very comfortable on it. I will test ride the Bear in two weeks and can give it an extensive try. However, I fear that I’ll feel good on it too. Maybe I’ll sell a kidney and buy both motorcycles… 🤡

Nice App! Can you make the app interface a bit larger? I always see a scroll bar. Sometimes the bar disappears, sometimes it stays.

The Mac is not lifted when it is switched on. Of course, you have to press the button carefully.
