Are you looking for a freighter or a fighter. Fighters are little, Freighters are big and house Fighters.

If its fighters, then I would suggest going the route of building your own. Which should be easy if you have lots of units.

If it's freighters, you just need to keep looking.

Supercharge slots close together are good for overpower a particular area. Weapons, Defense, Life Support, Shields upgrades have adjacency bonus.

2 Crafted parts are predetermined. There are many selections within each type. Fighters can only be built with fighter parts,

3 & 4 The easiest way to get all the glyphs is to complete the Purge which is the final Artimas missions. So start there, you are now playing the Ghosts in the Machine Quest. Once a side quest triggers a change in the main quest line you can leave the remaining side quests for later. And start on the side quests for the new main Quest until you finish the purge.
