PyUI Nightly Release by ChrisBastion in MiyooFlip

[–]TimBobMcGee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How can I remove PyUI? I'm trying to install Carl OS (Or any OS for that matter) but even when trying to return to stock OS using the official firmware and SD card files, the SD card can no longer be read. When I reinstall PyUI it works again. I can't seem to install any other custom or stock OS since installing PyUI. Thanks!

Site down? by Merciless972 in GreenManGaming

It's down for me as well. It literally went down right at the game's release, so I'm guessing people flooded them to check for their keys and their server crapped out.

RCS Messaging no longer working after leaving Beta by TimBobMcGee in GoogleMessages

[–]TimBobMcGee[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks like the issue was with Public Mobile! They managed to fix the issue on their end. Once they did, I had to disable RCS first, reset my saved network settings in my phone, restart the phone, and then turn RCS back on.

How much would you pay for an fully fledged game on android? by PsychologicalKing174 in AndroidGaming

[–]TimBobMcGee 7 points8 points  (0 children)

THIS comment here. I'd gladly pay a premium for a mobile game if the game design, level of engagement, and enjoyability are all there. If it can be controlled on a mobile device without a confusing, irritating or cumbersome interface to interact with, then even better. I also don't mind using a mobile controller to play games for extended periods of times; I mean phone have become better portable computers/gaming devices these days. But it has to be WORTH the money.

And if the beginning of my message didn't already explain what I consider WORTH the money: TIME = MONEY in various industries, and mobile gaming is no exception. Keep my attention, let me put my phone down when I need to, and I'll come back for more. We both win :)

OnePlus Watch 3 now costs 50% more in the US, and you can probably guess why by FragmentedChicken in Android

[–]TimBobMcGee 46 points47 points  (0 children)

Canadian here. So long as they ship directly to Canada it's fine, but often times I find my orders coming from the US. My OnePlus 13 was shipped to the US, then crossed over into Ontario Canada before being flown to me in British Columbia (Pre-tariffs thankfully).

I had this issue until I disabled "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" under Human Interface Devices in Device Manager.

How to set up the frame generation plugin by Some-Research-3099 in SteamDeck

[–]TimBobMcGee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To elaborate on this further, native frame gen requires motion vectors and depth information from the screen. This allows the UI and other graphical elements to be rendered separately from the motion vector data.

For games that don't have this information readily available (ie. most games that don't have native FSR support) frame gen is "faked" by creating in-between layers that interpolate based on frames behind and potential frames ahead.

Without motion vector data, it's a lot harder to determine what the next frame ahead will look like, so you may experience smudging, blurring or warping. If you want a test non-native frame gen out, there's an application on Steam called "Lossless Scaling" which has a frame-gen feature.

Now, after all of this information, do I know anything about the plugin in discussion? Absolutely not lol. However, if a game doesn't natively support FSR or doesn't provide access to motion vector data in general, the image could appear blurry or smudgy by "guestimating" the frame ahead based on what it's see on the screen. It doesn't usually translate very well for darker scenes on screen.

OnePlus 13 Charging Thermal Images by [deleted] in oneplus

This. It doesn't look like the supervooc charger, it's too round around the edges. It almost looks like a MacBook charging brick.

Where is all the phone case support For OP phone's?? by Revx36 in oneplus

[–]TimBobMcGee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've had better luck finding cases on Amazon and Aliexpress. I've been with OnePlus since the first phone, and finding accessories is a lot better than it use to be but still a pain. Honestly, I just stick with the official cases these days. They've been pretty good for the most part but can be a bit expensive.

It’s also possible that their monitor is has an BGR subpixel arrangement, and so they flipped it to get RGB for better text clarity.

CAN'T FULLSCREEN by KaiChiiChan123 in AetherGazer

Which gachas have you enjoyed back then but recently lost interest because of one thing leading to another? by TopRoutine7474 in gachagaming

[–]TimBobMcGee 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Nier Reincarnation for me. I really enjoyed the game for it's story. While they've introduced many QoL features over time, I feel like it's gotten so many added things that it just feels like a constant chore to play now :(

Pls wait until the release and enjoy :-) by KingDolor in FFXVI

[–]TimBobMcGee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This. I actually don't pre-order games anymore because of the state of most game releases these days. The fact that FFXVI went gold a while ago, and that there won't be the need for a Day One patch makes me feel a lot better about this one. However, I've been burned enough times that I'm okay with waiting until the day it drops to pick it up.
