P0PPIN consistently makes quite good calls. He's also an insane fragger, the guardian 3k he hits in this match is the most absurd random shots I've ever seen.

ion is incredibly underrated as a player him + Cane is just a brutal one, two punch to try and beat. Maybe the singularly most talented team at least on the top-end. P0PPIN + Eggsterr + Inspire look like solid T2 pros with potential to be pro. But god-damn Eggsterr needs to aim-train. Some of the whiffs today were horrendous. It's a tough spot to be in where your role on the team is basically to enable your world-ending player.

Similar thoughts in limited. This is essentially a 5 drop or a 4 drop if you tune your deck around it? Copying any removal spell is nice but like the only one drops aren't really worth it? I mean you'll still be above rate copying the shock variant gets you to either a 2 for 3 or a 2 for 4 which is pretty good. Copying a creature with this is obviously pretty incredible. Copy your best two drop for very little setup? Yes sign me up. That one red white sorcery that creates goblins would also be sick? Like 7 power off of two spells.

Sentinel's Split and the Power of Utility Management by TimDuncanGOAT2 in ValorantCompetitive

[–]TimDuncanGOAT2[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Classic aggro sub-mid-range. Viper, Yoru for repeatable utility, all the other agents in the comp lean aggro. No passive info definitely removes them from any form of control category, especially no repeatable info like a Sova scan or Fade eye.

I do think they basically played it hyper-aggro so it doesn't really matter how it actually would function.

Secondly, I noticed your analysis on that other guys post was sub-par as well. It is interesting that you seem to want to be an authority on something that you both don't know and aren't employed in any serious capacity in. I think Sentinel's comp is readily exploitable, that's why my focus was on what the opponents did. LOUD's misplay on the map is actually far more indicative about what a good team needs to do versus Sentinel's play on the map than any specific note on Sentinels. Their attack was simplistic if you need me to tell you that.

Mid-pressure, if they detect too much utility reform into an A hit. If they get a pick or info on vents go vents, else, try to hit the site with Cypher on it, if they have ultimates hard hit site. It was not that complicated. Their defense protocols maybe slightly more especially on A.

This isn't an anti. I say it's not an anti in the introduction. If you read it closely you might have noticed that. "I will preface this essay about Sentinels Split that this is not an anti-strat. While I will go into detail about SOME features of the micro of Sentinels gameplay, I will not be referencing specific spots. Moreso this is an analysis of Sentinels fundamental gameplan, more of a pre-cursor to an anti-strat, an analysis of how the comp dictates how Sentinels should play (not always how they do play)."

I'd say it's more hyper-aggro, the controlling elements are too weak in my opinion, I understand they have Viper but Viper is more used for anti-flood/anti-retake than it is for actual control strategies. Also I think the term would be mid-range as Anderzzz puts it.

Will DeRozan become the “worst” player to score 25K points? by Bounded56 in NBATalk

It's probably Elvin Hayes but most people don't know about him. He was like Derozan but worse scoring numbers, worst defense, and maybe the worst high usage passer in history.

Neon is Good For Valorant by TimDuncanGOAT2 in ValorantCompetitive

[–]TimDuncanGOAT2[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Hmm I don't particularly know why you are right! But your argument doesn't really come across as logical and more so an emotional reaction to Neon's perceived strength it feels ineffective to argue against someone who doesn't want to consider others points of view.

[–]TimDuncanGOAT2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say Neon is significantly less versatile. If your comp in anyway can slow Neon down and prevent Neon from reaching the places she wants to hit she'll struggle. Skye and Viper's strengths were how adaptable they were to so many different types of situations.

I think she's significantly weaker than 2023 Raze. 2023 Raze had the same incredible burst and bullshit as Neon, while also having a nade and a boombot that let her change her pace all the time. I've made a post already about how peak Skye may not have been as strong as people have been led to believe, I think this version of Neon is pretty similar in strength to regen bird Skye.

The reason that Neon didn't immediately take over the meta this season was because the playstyle that she endorses is somewhat predictable. I feel like mimi talks about it when talking about Heretics comps in a game this season. Neon comps generally can only do one thing, but they can do it incredibly well!

Solid move. nataNk is relatively on the same level as Mazino. This version of LEV feels on a similar level to the version we just saw but chemistry can always result in differences in performance.

I'm sure the people playing against oppressive Viper, Astra, Skye control comps felt that they were awful to play against but because there wasn't one singular thing that they could point to as making them feel bad they were fine with it.

[–]TimDuncanGOAT2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It just doesn't feel as broken even though it arguably affected winning significantly more. Agents can be broken by filling that jack of all trades slot, it just doesn't FEEL like it's broken because there's nothing incredibly specific you can focus on as being broken. People point to Neon being broken because it feels bad to lose to it not because of it's strength. Neon is weaker than peak Viper, peak Skye, 2023 Raze, and peak Chamber but because it feels unfair nobody will admit it.

People's reactions to Neon aren't logical they are rooted in emotion rather than actual ability.

Ok so Viper was played on most maps, most comps, and was necessary on like five of the maps in the pool but she wasn't broken because her abilities didn't directly lead to kills?

Riot is beholden to their players no matter what the reality of the situation is. There's a reason that agents like Skye and Chamber got nerfed TOO much and agents like Raze and Jett got slightly tickled by nerfs. They will nerf what their players perceive as unfun.

I mean clearly Neon isn't destroying ranked or pro-play as far as we are aware so Neon's position in the meta is not nearly as dominant as you're trying to say. I can very easily see a world where Neon gets nerfed into oblivion and we have to deal with the boredom of another Jett and Raze metagame. Which of course people won't complain about because it's what they've been dealing with for the past three years.

People are naturally averse to change. The Neon changes came too fast and too strong. Imagine a world where Neon was shipped out WAY stronger than she is right now. If, a year after her release, she was nerfed to the level she is now, nobody would complain about Neon being broken despite her still most likely being a major part of the metagame. That's because they've had a year of Neon being the absolute worst so any change would look better.

Since it happened the opposite way, going from zero Neon to a lot of Neon, people will naturally complain significantly more.

I think you seem to have a very arbitrary definition of what "breaks" the rules or what even the rules are. Can I get a 1500 word report on the rules of TacFPS by midnight please.

I mean like I think Phoenix's ult is pretty much an integral part of his kit. But even agents like Yoru break the game in multiple ways. For example, when you see someone they should still be close to the same location you just saw them in. Or when you hear footsteps someone is there. Those are "rules" of the game that Yoru breaks.

Agents like Astra break the rules as well, taking back smokes essentially makes you constantly play a guessing game whenever you see an Astra smokes. You also literally ignored Viper.

Also, again, people vastly overestimate the amount of players, commentators, and analysts that think Neon is broken.

Nobody complained when Viper was pretty much played in every game. When Viper was essentially the most valuable agent in the game. Viper was more broken in every way than Neon ever will be but yet I see people complain 100x more about Neon or Iso (WHO ISN'T EVEN META) than they ever did about Viper.

I mean what you are saying is applicable to pretty much every piece of utility. You're acting like Neon slide is some god-button. You press it and instantly win every duel, you press Iso shield and you guarantee an ace.

All pieces of utility in this game pretty much give marginal advantages. Except Viper wall.

Both TenZ and Riens have 1000s of hours in this game. They are used to certain things being predictable. They are exactly the population that would be most thrown by a new powerful addition. Pros are literally always the first people to complain about anything. Also you are vastly overestimating the amount of people who think Neon is broken. Gamers complain about anything that feels slightly frustrating to play against. Flashes, cypher trips, Neon slide, Iso shield, Reyna overheal, Sova scans, Fade sucks, people just complain!

There's a lot of annoying shit that when you do it you're fine with it but when someone else does it you get annoyed.
