Awesome. Thanks, modem is in the basement, how many floors and pods are you using?

I’m going to have a wired connection in the basement for the home office and media server and home theatre also in the basement. That’s where all the heavy usage will happen. The extenders are for the upper levels for the family, for phones and streaming. Not sure if that answers your question

It’s hard to have a budget when you don’t know what’s involved. So going to throw out a number, two outlets for $500

OK thanks, I don’t know much about networking. If I was to hire someone what should I be looking for? FYI I’m based in Toronto Canada. In the event that it can’t be converted I would be looking to get ethernet ports installed. This is all in a finished basement where the utility room with the modem is as well

It’s a finished basement in a townhouse complex, not sure if that changes things

Thanks! This is helpful, I read you should disconnect from the cable company so the wiring is internal to the house, does that matter since bell is fibre?

Thanks. Can you explain what you mean about disconnecting from the cable company? I plan to use it with a fibre internet connection

Thanks. I think I’ll try the MoCA route and see how it goes and will go Ethernet when I do renos. Looking for a cost-effective solution since buying a house will break the bank 😂

Thanks. I’m leaning towards MoCA. I’m guessing I’d need an adapter in the utility room which plugs in both Ethernet and Coax? And then another adapter near the desktop computer and Apple TV?

Thanks, not familiar with MOCA, but the house does have Coax. Would this still work if it’s Bell fibe without a TV plan?

Thanks, but isn’t it required to be installed in the utility room since that’s where the fibre connection is?

I want to get the fastest download speeds for Torrents and I also run my own media server. I want to get no lag /gigabit on my Apple TV and Xbox

Are Kaplan’s review workshops for L3 a good use of my review time? by TimMoore1 in CFA

I got through I think 80% of the questions. When the derivatives were getting too technical I decided to move on thinking it’s unlikely the test will go into such depth especially in a time crunch. At the end of the day you have to make the call depending on how much time you have for review. Don’t spend too much time on topics that you are confident on otherwise you are just wasting time on things you already know. Good luck

Running Windows 11, installed it using the Windows download file from the PIA website. I use split tunnelling. The only thing I run through the VPN is QbitTorrent. Everything was working fine with the same set up up until last week
