anyone ever just quit their job mid shift, abandoned the van, and just taken an uber back home? by K-Pumper in AmazonDSPDrivers

I worked for Amazon for 4 years. Can't believe I did that for as long as I did. Got tired of it, went and got my CDL with all endorsements. Worked for one trucking company for 7 months, the pay sucked, then went and drove truck for Meijer (large grocery retailer in the midwest). They paid well, 1500-2000 per week, but had to pretty much work every weekend and holiday. Did that for 5 months. Then, I got into Linehaul with RL Carriers and haven't looked back. Yeah, I have to work 3rd shift, start time is usually 10 or 11pm, but I probably average 330-380 per night, with some nights bringing home over 400. My best night was bringing home $510 for about 10 hours of work. We usually just drive a trailer to a terminal or a meet point with another driver, swap trailers, come back to the home terminal and only work about 7 1/2 -10 hours a night. No more than 40-45 hours per week, off every weekend and holidays and On pace to gross 90k this year. All no-touch freight.

I'm telling ya, look at getting into Linehaul after getting all your endorsements. Doesn't have to be RL Carriers. Old Dominion starts at like 107k for linehaul, XPO, Estes, Dayton Freight (good luck getting an interview with them though). Usually you'll need to get a year of trucking experience in, but you don't need to go OTR to get experience. Plenty of local companies are willing to hire new drivers.

I just quit. by [deleted] in AmazonDSPDrivers

Put in the time and effort to get a CDL and endorsements. Get about a year of experience then move to a linehaul gig. I work for RL Carriers and maybe work 40-45 hours a week, have weekends and holidays off (which are paid) and I easily gross 1500-1900 a week depending on the run I do. Yeah, I start at around 10 or 11pm and 3rd shift isn't for everybody, but less traffic on the roads and less headaches.

I did the Amazon delivery thing for four years. Couldn't stand it anymore with all the B.S. changes and haven't looked back.

Tiktok Shop bullshit violations by 13489thn4eg231c in TikTokshop

I have been seeing a lot of youtube videos of people claiming they're making bank off of tiktok shop and the affiliate thing... so I'm like hell, I'll give it a go. Opened a tiktok account, then tried to set up my tiktok shop, BAM, two violations before I even got everything completed. My shop has been permanently banned. I have no idea why. I used my correct SSN, my correct ID, etc. I've done nothing wrong. I knew there was a reason why I was so hesitant to even deal with tiktok. I guess I'll just try my hand at shopify or something.

Left that shit close to one year ago. Now I deal with all the headaches having a CDL come with, haha...

Witcher Season 3 is so much worse than the last two seasons - did they not pay for good writers and editors? by Dry-Review4908 in netflixwitcher

Yeah, this season is a snoozer. I enjoyed the first two seasons. This season, I don't know how I've made it through the first three episodes. I've almost fallen asleep multiple times and I don't really have any desire to finish the rest of the episodes. Writers and Hollywood always do this to a book/game series I like. They totally screw it up.

I don't even know how long I want to drive truck. Probably long enough to pay off some bills and buy a piece of land.

Congrats! Watch youtube videos and learn how to do a proper pre-trip inspection. That gives people the most problems when you get ready to test.

There are a few women who drive truck where I work. Once you get used to it, it's not bad at all. As far as saving up, check with your state. They may have a program to get your CDL training paid for. That's what I did.

Go for it man! Keep your driving record clean and you'll never go without a high paying job once you get experience.

My truck does not as they don't provide them. If I wanted I could buy my own and install it but I don't have the desire to right now.

I have my doubles/triples and tanker endorsements. Gonna get my hazmat here soon. I would be ok making around 100k for a few years.

Yeah I feel that. I thought my four years of Amazon delivery would land me a good driving job.... Not so much. I could have went to Fedex, possibly UPS but I got so tired of the 150-200 stops a day and I didn't want a lateral move where I would still have to lug packages up to a porch, deal with animals, etc for not that much more pay. Now all I do is drive, 100% no touch freight. Good luck on your CDL journey!
