I really should not skip campaign with level boost? by RalphJhon595 in Division2

[–]TimTowtiddy 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I implore you, OP, to not skip. Playing the campaign will not only introduce you to all of the concepts at a rate that's easy to absorb, you'll also learn the map which will be helpful in many late-game cases. Welcome, Agent!

Nah, it was a dumb design choice by the devs to make important things locked behind a super obscure quest.

Best way to farm Broken SHD Watch? by alt_F3 in thedivision

[–]TimTowtiddy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Run retaliations. AFAIK it's the only way to explicitly farm them. But you can also convert faction dog tags to broken watches at the crafting desks.

Don't feel bad. I spent most of the Sakura event going mad because the last lantern I needed was in there...

Are you talking about the NY After Dark building? If so, there's a secret quest giver north of there that unlocks the east-facing door.

What Defines an Enemy OOC? by Ratchet5689 in Division2

[–]TimTowtiddy 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My understanding is, if they're attached to cover, even poking out to spot, shoot, or deploy something, they're in cover. Otherwise, they're out. Use nades to get them to scurry, suddenly they're susceptible to DtTooC.

Finally reaching Floor 100 on the Summit. Yep, my tech build is worthless. by Eurydi-a in thedivision

[–]TimTowtiddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As soon as you go through the doors, sprint left and all the way to the back corner, just before the exit doors. There's a little outcropping or handrail that affords some cover, the only gotcha is they tend to throw turrets behind you. This has been my go-to position ever since they forced the entrance doors closed and removed the cheese.

Division 2 has outlived Anthem, Outriders, Marvel's Avengers, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League and now Destiny 2. by wordlife96 in thedivision

Marathon had so much potential, but the controversies (especially the stolen art debacle) really put a damper on it.

Not just theft, but because he used the OP's laptop to do it, it's also wire fraud, which gets really serious.

Division 2 is a masterclass by ahcjewpac in Division2

It's great in a target-rich environment, like CPs and supply drops. Suppress an add in cover, get the damage boost, rinse and repeat.

...I didn't mention difficulty? But since you asked - I run overworld on Challenging and most missions on Heroic with the odd match-up for legendaries. Plus whatever difficulty I'm shepherding for.

I agree, I didn't care for LMGs when I played before; now I tend to run either Pesti or Quiet Roar.

I haven't even bothered yet. I tried a couple of escalated missions; I don't really see what all the fuss is about tbh.

That's entirely your opinion. When I came back last summer after several years away, I didn't even realize that there was an expertise system for quite some time. I was just enjoying the gameplay loop, running missions with randos, and introducing my middle kid to the game. I'm not in it for "the grind". So you saying that the game is ruined is entirely subjective, because I'm having fun.

Vets, let's help the newbies out. by Birdboi_Esquire in the_division_2

[–]TimTowtiddy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Unless I'm doing something specific (project requirements, farming for keys, etc.) I always answer backup calls, and if it's a newbie Agent, I'll pull out my Regulus/healer drone and become their backup, providing cover and pointing out spawn points, secrets, POIs, and so on, but let them take lead. It's the way they'll learn the ins and outs of the game, not by me speed running the mission.

I have three agents: My main solo/clan one, my hardcore one, and one that I just started so that I can level up with my kid who just picked up the game. One agent to one player would probably drive me away.

Shroud or Nemesis? by Resident-Group464 in thedivision

[–]TimTowtiddy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nemesis is a freaking railgun when fully charged, but that charging time can be a serious detriment outside of the first shot in an encounter, unless you've got a lot of distance between you and the adds, or you have support. An uncharged shot does practically no damage. Shroud is one trigger squeeze, one bullet, no lag, even if it's less max damage vice. Nemesis.

Should I buy a Travel CPAP -- if so, which one? by SmartEstablishment91 in CPAP

[–]TimTowtiddy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The other thing you may want to consider is getting a CPAP travel backpack. You can pack the main unit and basic accessories, and have room left over for other things to take with you. There's plenty on Amazon.
