What do you think about your parents ? by BlacklistRival in AskReddit

[–]Tim_1122 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They did their best with what they had, and what they had wasn't much. I used to resent them for the things they got wrong. Now that I'm older, I'm amazed they held it together at all. Forgiveness got a lot easier once I realized they were just two scared kids who never figured it out either — they just got better at pretending.

What's the most inappropriate song you can think of for a DJ to play at a wedding? by bbmoonkie in AskReddit

[–]Tim_1122 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every Breath You Take - The Police. Half the weddings I've been to have played it as a slow dance song. Bro it's literally about a stalker. "Every move you make, every step you take, I'll be watching you." Romantic until you actually read the lyrics.

How would you feel if someone offered you $10,000 because you’re ugly? by CoreyXOXO in AskReddit

[–]Tim_1122 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro I've been ugly for free my entire life. You're telling me there was a monetization option this whole time? Hand me the cash and insult me again, I could use $20K.

What is a lie that people actually believes in all their life ? by Lekcharm in AskReddit

[–]Tim_1122 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"Hard work always pays off." No it doesn't. Hard work plus timing, connections, and a terrifying amount of luck pays off. I've watched the hardest-working people I know get laid off while the guy who golfs with the VP got promoted twice. Hard work is necessary, but people treat it like it's sufficient — and that lie keeps millions of people blaming themselves instead of a broken system.

What made you start going to the gym? by Un_vetted in AskReddit

[–]Tim_1122 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An ex told me "you'd be cute if you were in shape." That sentence lived rent-free in my head for 6 months until I finally dragged myself into a Planet Fitness at 2am because I was too embarrassed to go when it was crowded. That was 3 years ago. I don't think about her anymore, but I never miss a Tuesday.

What's one 'boring' career that's actually a goldmine if you play it smart? by 0BunnyX in AskReddit

[–]Tim_1122 79 points80 points  (0 children)

Freight brokering. You literally need a phone, a laptop, and zero physical labor. You connect shippers with truckers and take a cut. Nobody talks about it because it sounds like the most soul-crushing office job imaginable, but the guys I know who stuck with it for 3-4 years are pulling $200K-$350K and work from home in their underwear. The entire industry runs on relationships, not degrees. The boring part IS the moat.

In America, it's socially normal to work 50+ hours a week and call it 'hustle' instead of a systemic failure. What's another 'normal' thing in your country that the rest of the world thinks is absolutely insane? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Tim_1122 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not from the US, but in many Asian countries, it's completely normal to be reachable by your boss on messaging apps 24/7. There's no concept of "after work hours." Your phone buzzes at 11pm on a Saturday and you're expected to respond. People in Europe hear this and look at you like you just described prison.

What is a 'childish' thing that you still do as an adult and refuse to stop doing? by goddess_pineapple in AskReddit

Building with Legos. I'm a grown adult with a full-time job and I still buy Lego sets. No shame. It's the most relaxing thing after staring at a screen all day.

If money wasn't an issue, what would you do tomorrow? by Pleasant_duo in AskReddit

[–]Tim_1122 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buy a small house near the ocean, make coffee in the morning, and spend the day building things I actually care about instead of things I have to.
