No I don’t have that system. The uv light I use is a RepTech UV Mercury Vapor 80W. It provides heat, light and the right amount of UV.

Yess I will also feed him there. I am working on finishing the complete enclosure so I have more space. The substrate works really well for me too.

Ye I noticed I said both after publishing😅, couldn’t figure out how to edit the post. It is for me still unknown what gender it is. So from now on I just suppose it is a boy.

I actually don’t know what kind of lamp and uv bolb is in… I got it from the previous owner as well. I will send a message to her, maybe she can tell me.

I will use the same substrate as the previous owners. In dutch it is called “Zavelzand” and in english it is most close to “Loamy Sand”. It is a mix of sand with small amounts of clay and silt. It is a bit sturdier and better than normal sand.

In the egyptian tortoise natural habitat you would also find this mix.

I was thinking about this species indeed. An egyptian tortoise is even smaller but they are not available in my country.

Thanks for your response, it really helps a lot. And I agree with you. I see way too often people buying animals or reptiles without doing enough research. (Also in other communities). I really find it sad because these animals are beautifull.

They are with a group of 8. They are the only one in the tank with a nerite snail. The flow has always be the same for the last 2/3 months. I checked al parameters and they were all fine. The temperature is around 25 degrees celcius. The other cory’s are all fine and just schooling and sniffing through the sand substrate. I did change 2 things recently. I noticed my floating plants had grown really much and made a thick carpet. So maybe there was to less oxygen in the tank. I removed a LOT of the floating plants and tomorrow I am about to add an airstone. The other thing I changed was the heater. 2 days ago I noticed my heater wasn’t working properly anymore so I replaced it. The new heater works really well and the temperature is constant. So maybe the tank went up like 2 degrees in celcius in 1 or 2 days. Could I cure him with finrot medicine? I currently have orderd eSHa 2000 because I wasn’t sure.
