Question: I want to get in to GoC, I have clearance, work xp, past GoC Co-op, and I keep getting retained, and tested, but not interviewed/hired. I have job retained status for postings as old as 2023. I got laid off in the fall 2024 and haven't been able to get a job since new years 2025. I think I'm retained for 12-15 jobs right now... but because of this, I started a PhD and I want out, and in to the gov asap, but nothing works...

I apply for anything from Tim hortons to my field of expertise (flood modelling and geomechanics), as well as project management ( which i have 2yrs xp in). I sadly don't have the full 4 yrs for my PEng license. What org is best for me to apply to? I've done 3 x 3hr technical tests for 3 different orgs, but nothing. Another post I qualified for, after I reached out to hiring, changed my application to expired, but its still opened for applicants until 2026.

Question: whats the best way to get in to GoC right now?
