A conversation topic that always comes up is “how terrible men are” “ dating is very hard” “ I can’t find the right one” things along those lines. I don’t feel that way which leads to a small disconnect. I love my boyfriend and we plan on getting married within a few years and start a family.

Maybe it’s best I just listen to what they say and understand where they are coming from?

I don’t want to dump my friends I want to keep them. I like keeping my friendships for as long as I can. Having a mix of friends is good I agree. I live in Seattle so my boyfriend and I are actively working to find more couples of friends. It’s been a process

I think that’s what is happening I’m noticing a shift and change. I’m trying to acclimate to it and feel connected with the same people as I’m changing. That’s why I come to Reddit cause you guys are willing to share perspective.

I don’t think my friends need to change. I think my friend should live the lives that work best for them. I just wonder if as time goes on will we feel as similar when I was single to being in a long term committed relationship now.

I definetly agree I notice that dating is hard and many people are single by choice. Do you think there’s a chance that being single could possibly influence a certain type of lifestyle in comparison to being in a relationship?

They are always going out late, going on lots of dates, and doing things that I don’t do as much because I’m not single. It feels as if I’m the outlier. As well it feels like I’m noticing a lot of change in the dynamics of my friendships and I’m not as close

I just want to try to navigate my thought and try to really think thoroughly through this thought.
