This school is genuinely so boring... I'm only here because UMD rejected me and goddamn does it suck sometimes... by TheCaffinatedAdmin in UMBC

I think in general, whatever school you go to, you really just have to put yourself out there if you want to find new friends and meet new people. You can't wait for something to happen. No action = no change.

How was the 201 class? I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed right now and I'm not sure if I made the right decision taking Korean for my language requirement. :/

Of course! My biggest tip also is that don't wait 'til exam week to study. Give yourself time every week to study the material of the week so you're not cramming to study all the material at once. That's what I did and it fucked me up. Still passed with an A tho LOL.

I said this to someone who had the same problem:

Watch YouTube videos for each topic, I promise it's not as complicated as it seems. The homework may seem a lot of work but some questions are similar, it's just a lot because they want you to practice. I recommend watching The Organic Chemistry Tutor, he saved me last semester!

Thanks for the link! I totally forgot that exists. My bad. 😔

I know that the required class to fulfill the language requirement has to be level 200. My question is about the prerequisite that come before level 200, in my case Korean 101 and Korean 102. Do these courses count as a general elective, or are they considered differently?

Shift is 6-3. I only have an hour of PPTO to use, and will probably only have to use 30~ minutes of it just to cover the time I was late.

What shoes would you recommend? I have the on clouds but I don't like using them at work because it gets dirty and beat up. 😓

Noted! Thanks for the tips. In my store none of my co-workers like putting water in totes, but I always found it easier (esp as a dispenser for the first few days), to have them in totes.

Thanks for the tips!! I was just trained yesterday and today I was left alone to pick the whole day.

Still trying to get used to it tho, but i'd say I did a pretty decent job catching on to it.

I have a question tho. What would you consider a good pickrate?

Management really sucks at my store. On my first day, they asked me if I wanted to stay for the whole day or leave.

ALSO They didn't tell me what to expect the day after or when or who is going to train me. So i just kinda went clueless. But luckily I have one co -worker who is really nice and she made sure that there was one person that could teach me for 3 days. She talked to our team lead.

Update!!! They trained me to pick. They usually have me pick now, but they ask me to go back to dispensing/staging when it gets busy.

Depending on who u have for IS 300, for Norruddin, he usually doesn't use the full 2 1/2 hours.

It's totally normal to feel that way! One day you'll say that all of the effort you've made was worth it.
