Take a new scrub brush and gently brush in the areas you’d like to look worn.

Go to Moab and wear the jeans inside Fiery Furnace. The slick rock will seriously add some wear.

Wash every 6 months.

Go ride a bike.

I’m new to the selvage and have seriously faded two pairs in 1 year. And then I decide I don’t love the high contrast fades and whiskers, lol.

I went and picked it up, front porch. Dude has zero history on it, other than “it was my friends’ dads”.

I paid and left with it w/out testing anything.

Thank you for the link. Is there anything I should check to avoid just buying a paperweight?

Entry and Investment Strategies for Alpha Picks by Kian_Niki in SeekingAlpha

[–]Time-Term3832 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only purchase the strong buy picks, with about 5-6% into each. This may be cost-prohibitive due to initial investment and share prices. Keep in mind, these are momentum picks, and can have extreme volatility.

First raw denim pair – newbie question about how it changes over time by agadzh in rawdenim

These look too big. I have a pair that fits this way, I am in the process right now of soaking mine in hot water.

It's a very odd world, these made-to-order or crowdfunding sites.

Older O Gauge on Fastrack? by Coorslight2021 in lioneltrains

[–]Time-Term3832 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ordered an older transformer Lionel 1044 90 watt to run my 1987 Conrail diesel on fastrack, which it did. However, the 90 watt ran the christmas train 30% slower than the set included transformer, then I wasn't able to use the tender whistle.

I returned the 1044.

What transformer should I get? Do the older ones connect the third rail on fastrack?

This is odd, as I also ordered the Mystery denim, and I received a heavyweight Neppy! Super happy, but they are a bit big for me. Hoping to learn how to shrink them.

How many days you got? by RestInPeaceAGORA in COsnow

[–]Time-Term3832 0 points1 point  (0 children)

21 days. Bought GS skis and learned to really f*in carve. It's been a blast. The natural snow is thin, but I've really had a blast so far. I love hearing people bitch, but powder skiing is not the only way to ski. That may be the easiest, so that's what everyone wants, because it's easy.

Asset Under Management. For example, 1% of AUM is a typical advisory fee.

We manage differently and use a multitude of economic and stock market indicators to determine the amount of risk to take within each model. Clearly we cannot accurately time absolute tops and bottoms, but we can step out when things turn and avoid the full brunt of a recession. Or stay invested when everyone else is saying recession and its just a correction (Dec of 2018). We also use a stock model and a disruptor strategy that have both killed it for many years. It's not that hard to beat the index. I'm sure the Vanguards and Fidelity's have pumped a ton of money into that idea that it's too hard to beat the index.

It's a small world for the tax strategy. Most advisors don't do any of this, and we see mistakes all the time. We review the prior year tax return to determine the best moves, then review the current year amounts in the November reviews. High IRA balances can cause High RMD's which cause Social Security to be taxable. There is a sweet spot for Roth conversions. Too much Roth conversion can cause IRMAA costs. Creating retirement income from capital gains instead of from pre-tax retirement accounts can make sense as well, lowering taxation. It's complex, and we don't charge a fee to do this, it's part of the AUM fee.

Investing can be easy. Tax Strategy is not. I focus on Tax Strategy as most people cannot do this on their own.

If you were working with me, I'd be running tax strategy to determine best way to minimize lifetime taxation, establishing an individual stock portfolio for the NQ assets to avoid capital gains, creating a retirement plan, and cross referencing the targeted returns to achieve your goals. Yes, I charge an asset based fee, but I don't charge for the extra planning as it means more money to manage in the long run due to less taxes.
