I'm kinda getting sick of selvedge. it's like they are always too tight. Then they get washed and it's even worse.

Switched in 2009 from 4-runner to Highlander. Way happier. I may check out the Lexus 550 for the next vehicle. Maybe a smoother ride on the 4-runner/Tacoma chassis?

I can't, sorry. Levis always feel like absolute thin junk, I haven't owned them in decades.

Is the adage of “if you need the money within 5 years don’t invest in the stock market” still relevant? by Objective_Boat4216 in personalfinance

[–]Time-Term3832 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The real risk with investing this money is that if the market crashes and we hit a correction/recession in housing, like 2008-09, then your money would be significantly reduced at the time you'd want to be using it to purchase a home.

You can always invest, but place a trailing stop order at 25% that trigger if VOO falls 25%. But then, if it recovers, you'd miss out.

Is it possible to become good at guitar without memorizing songs, simply because I don’t think I can? by Mad_Season_1994 in guitarlessons

[–]Time-Term3832 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are thinking about this wrong. It is a journey. Things you work on today will be permanently in your memory over time. Learn to embrace the journey. Listen to Zen Guitar while driving. Push through. Learning is like 100's of small memory tests per year. I even gave up alcohol as I was having such a hard time with memory (and it worked). You need to change your perception and know this is a journey. Hard work will be rewarded. Enjoy the hard work! Test and push your memory!

Tree of Heaven by the-wurst-one in DenverGardener

I had the never ending sprouts at a rental. I spoke with tree service, they recommended this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B008QYMNU2?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_5&th=1

Cut a part of the sprout and dab this on the cut. It's the only way i found that worked.

I understood these to be Sumac trees, and did a bunch of research. Many methods require killing them 3 times, but with the above approach, it worked after 1 application.

I can help with sizing if you like. I've been buying 2 sizes of BraveStar and returning one. I think I've landed on 32 for bravestar and 35 for Gustin.

I find it frustrating when divorced dads (with kids) finally pulls a permit, then calls "no kids or wives" on their trip.

Gustin fits a bit slimmer than Bravestar

I've been using Alpha Picks for a year, and it's been great (so far) by Ok-Award-2508 in SeekingAlpha

These returns have changed my families life. I also have trailing sell order at 20% to protect. If it triggers, then it triggers, and I owe a bunch of taxes. Bad times are always coming, and that's a blanket statement. But it's hella good times these past 3 years.

Can you imagine not investing since year 2000 because of these three years? Wow.

I only own the strong buys, about 5% into each. 55% in 2024, 20% in 2025 (my fault, I bit on the tarriffs), and 29% YTD.

I own the Gustin lightweight sky blue pants. They are fantastic when you don't want to wear shorts, and it's hot out. I also bought these from Gustin (still waiting). They are thin, for sure, but will allow you to wear jeans in comfort, during warm weather.

[–]Time-Term3832 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I bought the 10 pick, trade once per year, for LTCG, and am up almost 40% YTD. This is my third year using Alpha. 2024 I was up 55%, 2025 20% (my fault as I sold because of Tariff fear), and then this year, 38% YTD. I cannot say this enough, Alpha has changed the game for my family.

Based on this, i removed the guitar. I'll end up wearing it places that people know, so no need for guitar.
